" In search of love" - written by Fredie during The Miracle sessions (1988) I’ve heard of this song title since the mid-2000s (along with Had To Believe Me and Everybody Needs Somebody) but this is the first time I’ve seen the lyrics. They’re…interesting, at least what I can decipher.

I think the part above the lyrics is interesting: It looks like Freddie was jotting down some ideas of what would eventually turn into A Winter's Tale. This page has the word "Dreaming" surrounded by: floating, sky, nights, magic, frantically, tranquil. Of course, the word "Dreaming" is repeated often in the A Winter's Tale, but aside from "frantically," those other words also feature in the following lyrics to that song: - red skies are gleaming - swans are floatin' by - the nights draw in - there's a silky moon up in the sky- ( Dreaming) tranquil and blissful - ( Dreaming) there's a kind of magic in the air - like a landscape painting in the sky
And the way "Dreaming" is written in the middle, with the other words branching off of it, matches the somewhat call-and-response "Dreaming" part of the finished song. I know A Winter's Tale is described as a song written in 1991, but if those handwritten lyrics to In Search of Love are indeed from 1988, could this page suggest that he had the initial idea for A Winter's Tale around that time as well?

There are two pages for In Search of Love. Sorry that I forget what's the source that I saved from. It's a short while ago.

Bang on. This is quite the revelation.

I immediately associated these words with "A winter's tale", but you rightly took note of the clues that correspond to the structure of lyrics. As for the genesis of the song, I think Jim Hutton's book describes the day the final version was written, and it was probably December 1989 or 1990. I remember I was surprised as it suggested that nothing was written by Freddie for almost a year after that(or even two?), provided that it was indeed the last song penned by him.

Clearly it's from the same set as "In search of Love". Somebody must have misspelled the title years ago and got rid of 'r'.

The handwritten lyrics to "In Search Of Love" (discussed earlier in this thread) were sold at an auction a few days ago for $5200 USD. Another set of lyrics to an unreleased song apparently titled "Everybody Needs Someone" sold at this same auction for $4550 USD. Here are the lyrics, as taken from the auction item description: "She was lonely said she didn't care. / he was lost & going nowhere. / they were happy. / taking care of themselves. / Everybody needs someone / Everybody needs someone / Someone who is there when things go wrong... / Now maybe families, / are right for some. / and other people, prefer one to one / but whichever, way is up / its all the same to me..."

Just looking through the recently released Bohemian Rhapsody handwritten lyrics, seems an older name for Bohemian Rhapsody was jotted down by Freddie, scribbled out and replaced with "Bohemian". Anyone know what this could say? I'm not the best at reading Freddie's handwriting.
