Innuendo is a masterpiece. I can remember the first time I listened to the title track. I was overwhelmed with emotions. It was bombastic and Freddie sounded immense. The awesome middle section captured some of that early Queen magic too. Yes, there were still some more poppier elements (I'm looking at you, Delilah), but the album is eclectic and had no filler. That's right, no filler. I love it all. For me, the only other record that competes for the top slot is A Day at the Races. But that's for another topic.

The "my soul is painted" section is my highlight, so soft and beautiful. When my firstborn daughter died in ‘93 just after she was born those words gave me enormous comfort. In the days when you could email Brian, around 2004, I told him about this. He replied with humility and kindness. I don’t have any printed copy of the correspondence but actually I don’t care. I got to thank one of my heroes for being a part of my memories of my daughter’s short life. And one of my heroes got to learn about my kid’s short life. No point to the story other than to say that TSMGO was played at my daughter’s funeral. And one day - when I summon up the nerve - I will get those words tattooed onto me in the shape of her footprint. Wow !! For me I always think of Thomas as well in that line... my first born son who died prematurely in 2001.... what are the chances of that .. just wow... and 'No One But You' I choose for his funeral !!

My top Queen albums have always been Jazz, Queen 1, Queen II... which the first two I just mentioned are not very popular it seems, I think your Queen Fan favourites depends on what you heard first maybe, Queen II, Flash Jazz and Greatest Hits were my first listen on cassette way back in the early 1980's, and then I heard 'Great King Rat' and still to this day its my fav Queen song

I just listened to the whole Innuendo album from start to finish for the first time in a very long time. And for the first time ever I actually really enjoyed it. I'd still probably rank it in the lowest half of my favourite Queen albums but it is quite a big leap for me. I don't think any other Queen album has ever done this normally they increase gradually overtime.

I don't think it will ever come in my Top 5 but just after one listen it really did leap up. I don't like Innuendo's songs as much individually compared to nearly every other Queen album except a couple of songs but as an album it works really well.

To be a fly on the wall when it was recorded... You can be anything you want to be. Just turn yourself into anything you think that you could ever be.

Innuendo is probably my favorite Queen album. Freddie was dying yet could still kill it. Highlights include Slightly Mad, Ride the Wild Wind, Headlong, and of course the Show. The title track feels almost like a sequel/successor to Bo Rhap. However, Delilah is kind of ridiculous.

For me, Innuendo is a classic, but only comes after the 70's classics Queen made (from the first self-titled, up and until Jazz). I like the dark and melancholic mood of Innuendo. I got that feeling when I first heard it in 1991 and I still get that feeling, everytime I hear it. I think it even could've been better if the more classical / orchestral pieces were played by a real orchestra, instead of the synthesizers that were used (like the re-recorded orchestral parts of the Barcelona record sound much better to my ears than the original synth parts). On Innuendo Freddies vocals are drenched in reverb and delay, which I normally don't like that much, but somehow it works on Innuendo, as it adds to the dark and distant sound / mood of the record.

The video to the title track remains my favorite video of theirs. So powerful! That's saying a lot for me as I love almost all of their videos uo to, and including, The Game videos.
