I paid $15 and doubt I will receive it . Wish I hadn’t of done this tbh ; I was a bit green about Rudi back then . Doughnut, I think we all were naive about him. I tuned into his early YouTube broadcasts, eager for news of the book. It wasn't long before I realized how self-centered the man is and stopped listening to him. I hope you do get a book because I'd like to know if there are new pictures, but that's all that interests me. Same I was so into his YouTube channel, watched it every week. Then I realised he just told the same stupid stories and I lost interest. Then with the book as soon as they said you could pre order I paid the $10 and after awhile realised it was a scam. SHAME

Now I'm offering a secret. Yes, I had my doubts about this book, but as a nerdy fan, I preordered a copy of it. Result until today - Nothing, german version VIP bla bla, until today I still got nothing. The book from Thor Arnold made it's way to my home, passing the Atlantic. Rudi's Book get lost on the way(I think without crossing any border). How stupid I am!

Rudi has Covid atm. His video about it popped up on my fb .
I got a suggestion from Amazon yesterday…yep it was ‘I may be interested in the kindle version of Rudi’s book’
I really hate to think bad about people but I am questioning his motives for doing the book .

I recieved the My Friend Freddie book today here in the UK that I ordered I don't know when. All signed as per request and with a signed post card. I have yet to read it though so can't comment on that. :-)

I am starting to feel like a right mug; I paid for a personalised copy of this book about two or three years ago now and I still have not received anything. Surely he wouldn't be so low as to rip off fans, would he?
Alarm bells should have rang when I saw the title; as far as I am aware I have never read anywhere that Freddie was close to Rudi at all.

That was a week ago. I shall not hold my breath.

Well, my book finally arrived a couple of days ago.
The English version has definitely not been proof read; there's even a spelling mistake on the back cover. It is full of typos throughout and not written very well at all - although I appreciate that could be as a result of it being translated into English.
Forgetting the typos, spelling mistakes and wrong dates given in the book, you are still left with one man's account of Freddie which does not hold true to me at all. Sure, there are some truthful bits in there, but some of the alleged private conversations Rudi claims to have had with Fred just don't seem genuine to me. Adding to that, there are easily proven lies in the book like Rudi claiming the film Bohemian Rhapsody paid him some respect by showing the making of One Vision (as well as other promos), for example.
Rudi also claims that Freddie allowed him to interview him on camera towards the end of his life on a documentary about London (?!). I call absolute BS on this.
All in all, the book is just not reliable or even a good read. And he definitely overplays his 'friendship' with Freddie and claims that he paid 'hundreds' of visits to Garden Lodge over the years, stating throughout that he was one of the 'inner circle'.
Oh, and Mary told him back in the late 90s that one day when the Freddie film would be made that 'I hope that you're remembered and that you're there when the big money is made on Freddie's story...' and, for me, that sentence - allegedly from Mary - says more about Rudi than anything else in the book.

They got back to me and confirmed my address details, etc. and the book arrived within weeks. I'd rather have my money back though, to be honest.

Ok I know it's been awhile since I've seen the movie, but I dont remember them mentioning one vision

After reading these reviews I'm so glad I did not order Rudi's book. I had high hopes when he first began to talk about it on his YouTube videos, but I quickly got bored with his self promotion. Then I heard him tell a story about the "musical prostitute" video that was not correct. Easy to prove since we have the actual video which Rudi conducted. I completely lost faith in his ability to tell a story without his enormous ego in the way at that point and stopped even watching his videos. What a shame that he couldn't have been more honest about the times he worked with Freddie.

Ok I know it's been awhile since I've seen the movie, but I dont remember them mentioning one vision Yeah, it is definitely not mentioned in the film anywhere. The only making of video I recall is for IWTBF. Rudi states in his book that One Vision and other promos of his were in the film. This is, quite simply, one big lie. I also doubt the alleged quotes from Freddie throughout the book too - quotes where Freddie praises Rudi or takes him to one side and has a one to one chat. And he takes far more credit than he should for certain things; for example, claiming that he coaxed the 'musical prostitute' quote out of Freddie (like Fred would not have said it had Rudi not been present). Really disappointing book in every way possible.

The reason people write books on Freddie or queen and makes up lies is because they know no one will call them out on the lies. So they can say whatever they want. Sad though that there are people who believe these lies

If he's written an untrue book, maybe it could be used as a basis for a film...

Well after I mailing again last week , the book finally arrived today. I am going to read it with the view a lot of the stories have been told already and that could be to Rudi’s advantage as like has been said here; there will be no one to call him out .
