I am going to do a quick and in-depth analysis of The Montreal 1981 show, 24-25 November. Analyzing which perfomance is from which on the official release, this will not cover what we already know.
Let me Entertain you, the old "We will rock you 2001" DVD had an Overdub and the alternative Overdub had an aggression, kind of vocals, they used Overdubs because Freddie flubbed the words on this perfomance, You can check the audience recording to confirm for yourself.
on the"Rock Montreal" 2007 However instead of using an Overdub they used the second nights audio, how do we know this? Freddie's tone changes and the aggression that was found on the 2001 dvd is gone. it has more of a live feel. Also the Audience Microphone which actually has the real live vocals, unveils that they replaced the audio with the second nights.
Play the game, just as Freddie sits down it's from the first night, then it cuts to the second night just after he sits down, infact there is a click which can be a heard, and also look when John is drinking and when the switch happens how far he is.
"Crazy Little thing called Love", this perfomance was supposedly from the first night, but according to my only one minute or less is from the first night, the rest is from the second night visually and audio.
on the bootleg recording Roger doesn't start drumming for a sold 2 mins, but in the official release he is seen drumming from the beginning. Also in the middle section Brian breaks a string, but on the official release that's gone and the right solo can be heard.
Another clear cut evidence is on the Bootleg recording Freddie says "Take it Brian" on the official release he says "Take it, take it, take it" totally different words, also on the last few words on the audience Recording Freddie sings totally different words that differ from the official release.
Brian's Guitar solo, the first few minutes are from the first night The rest is from the second night till another switch which I will cover, I am going to Refer to Cheif Mouses video, at 4.58 see how it pans to the audience the lights change from yellow to red- pinkish Lighting that's a clear evidence that there is a switch to second night.
Just as Brian is going up stairs and when he is playing the guitar, look at the audience, this same audience can be seen at "Tie Your Mother Down" which is from the second night. Just as Brian is going down the stairs the lighting doesn't change much from the pinkish colour, until 6.00 mins in there's another switch it switches to the first night.
"Improv and Dragon Attack", this perfomance is Definitely 100% from the second night,Look at the audience from "save me" and compare it to the improv it's exactly the same audience,
the same audience can be seen and shown. The same can be seen at Dragon attack, there is no cut so we can assume this from the second night also.
Love of my life, is from the first night the audience matches the first nights.
Now I am here reprise is unknown so which night it comes from is unknown, However the "Down in the valley just you and me" was thought to be an Overdub, but on the audience microphone Freddie can be heard saying the same words, so it's not an Overdub and actually live. It's probably not often he refers to this as the actual vocal is reference to the Lilly of the valley song, I've never heard Freddie sing this phrase live, so this was an one off just for filming purposes.
