they're really nice shots. are you using a 35mm or 50mm lens?
i'd have loved to take that route too - but having also branched out into Astronomy, the digital option fits better.

I have a little set of vintage Canon FD lenses, 28mm f2.8, 50mm f1.4 and a generic brand 80-200 f4.5 tele (could be better but it works out, the first shot was taken with it, second with the 28 I believe and the dog with the 50). I also have a set of extension tubes so I can kinda do some macro too, if I wish. So, pretty much mostly covered except super wide, but those FD's ere expensive. The common FD glass is super cheap, for lenses anyway. I got the f1.4 50m for about 70 eur from Germany a couple years ago or so.

So is there anyone shooting film? I started back in Summer 2015 with a Canon T50 and a year or so later moved on to a Canon AE-1 P to learn more and gain more flexibility. Shooting completely manual and scanning at home. A few from the latest roll, shot on Kodak Tri-X 400. This is really beautiful, really... wow. You're very talented 💜

So, we're going old school! Great pictures, there's just something about good black and white photography on film that I've always found appealing. Now, technically this photograph doesn't belong here - it was not shot on film, and I didn't take it - but I did sit for the portrait, and I think it fits. This was made for an exhibition by a Belgian friend of the family, Isabelle De Swaef, who works with wet plate photography (and yes, I have permission to share it on the internet). It was taken with a camera from 1870, and if I look strained, that's because I had to sit motionless, staring into bright light, for about 30 seconds. It felt like three hours.

That's very cool! I love wet plates, there is something very special and outworldly about them.

August 2016, shot this in my back garden experimenting with night photography. Always liked how it turned out. Canon AE-1 P, FD 50mm f1.8 wide open, probably about 13 seconds. Superia 400.
