Apart from the obvious tweaks to the sound of the album I've always wondered why LK never got the deluxe treatment. After all, there were plenty of gigs recorded for the album, so why not? Imagine having studio produced copies of five/six (or more) gigs from the tour - in one handy boxset. When you see what bands like Purple: Made In Japan [3CD 3-dates] and the soon to be mega release: www.loudersound.com/news/ufos-legendary-strangers-in-the-night-live-album-set-for-deluxe-reissueQueen have no excuses (beyond not being bothered) for not being able to do the same as UFO - they had as many gigs to source.

Couldn't agree more! It's something I think we've all wanted for years. Brian has said many times that they recorded all the shows, so it must either be that they can't be bothered, or they don't think it would be financially beneficial. Far be it for them to give the fans something they want, just because they can.

I talked about this earlier this weekend. I agree wholeheartedly.
I would also argue they could combine a deluxe version of Live Killers with Live Magic. Since they apparently don't have enough for a full release of Knebworth, it'd be a nice way of sneaking in whatever they do have as a bonus feature.

LK is taken from more than 20 shows, therefore the potential for a really nice multi-show box is there already. the minute you add in another tour, then some of the LK recordings have to make way.

You make a good point. Then yes, keep the two separated. Maybe one day when they decide to do something with Knebworth, they'll tie it in with Live Magic...though honestly I don't care for that live album.

Even if they could, a full version of 'Live Magic' would be yet more repetition. We've had Budapest and Wembley, both of which were virtually identical set lists. Do we really need another version of a Magic Tour show? I'd much rather have a LK box, which would include the full concerts that made up the original LP, akin to the upcoming UFO box set. At least then we might finally get an official live version of It's Late.

Live magic is lovely Would be interesting to find out if any tracks were worked on in the studio for the original LK release (and LM come to that) but left off due to time constraints / quality reasons. Would be nice if some were still in the archives. As it stand, FBG from the BR OST fits in nicely already so I feel an expanded LK wouldn't take too much effort. I think previous discussions on QZ were interesting. A box including the original sequence for us oldies plus a whole additional concert focussing on the tracks left off would make sense rather than eating in to the original running order some of us have loved for nearly 40 years. But hell, I'll take anything at this point

Why to release any live show or boxset if they can sell this without any effort: www.queenonline.com/news/official-queen-bar-stool-back-in-stockExcuse me for being sarcastic, this will be a one time occurrence. But I think there's something wrong with a band member, band archivist and band manager all telling seperately (but in each case formally) about The Miracle box set this year, giving hopes to people, but at the end it doesn't happen. They were working on it before the pandemic, but after having completed it, they don't release it so they could make a space for Q+AL compilation. It's dissapointing. Regarding that bar stool, people on Twitter are expecting 'Official Queen toilet rolls' next

You've just reminded me that I've got a Queen bar stool somewhere. Is there a face palm emoji on here?

Enough of being force fed the Magic bullsh*t every couple of years. Any "upgrade" to Live Killers would be most welcome, even if it's just yet another compilation of shows into one single recording, but perhaps as a 3-disc set with more live jewels from that tour, like It's Late, Fat Bottomed Girls and Somebody to Love.
However, given how many excellent rarities they've played with Adam (not to mention a "new" song, Ghost Town) and didn't include in the QAL live album, I guess we shouldn't be too optimistic.

I always thought they could put an expanded version of the LK album (with STL, FBG, etc.) on 2 cds, have 2 or 3 complete concerts on CD, and then use a Blu-ray to put the complete audio from all the concerts of the tour. Not too many discs and you'd get a lot of content. Obviously it would never happen though, this is QPL we're talking about after all...

The only thing I'd change about Live Magic is replace the helicopter picture on the cassette fold out with the shot from the back cover of the vinyl. And if they reissue it, keep the cassette Dolby tone burst that starts it. Weirdly, that was a massive part of the excitement listening to it back in '86. It was like being in the future.

I had no idea what you were talking about until I checked out YouTube what that sound was and as soon as I heard it I instantly went back to being a kid, listening to The Works (probably an original Capitol Records cassette) and hearing that sound at the end of Is This the World We Created...? What a strange bit of nostalgia!

What a strange bit of nostalgia! Ha! Same here. About 20 years after I last stuck the cassette on I heard it and it took me right back. I think I was also pleased at the time because the same was on my sister's Kate Bush The Whole Story tape from 1986 too and I was jealous
