well, I’ve found the solution on the web.... it is slightly misleading for me but I do not delve into it because I am waiting for the explanation of those who guessed 🤪🤪🤪 thanks and to the next quiz 👍

okay, as none have come forward, here is the solution: Apart from the First Rule of Maths Club - you're not allowed to talk about Maths Club the other Rule of Maths Club: Mathematical problems are governed by a rule called PEMDAS. It dictates the order in which sums and equations should be tackled: Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication/Division, Addition/Subtraction now, all you have to do is look at what has changed in the graphics from first two sums to the third. clock face now says 2 o'clock (instead of 3), bananas = one (instead of 2), cookie now has 7 choc-chips (instead of 10)...so so, doing the sum in the correct order we have: 1x7 = 7 + 2+1 = 10

I only got PEMDAS correct and did not look closely at the icons unfortunately. I geuss that is why I am a quality engineer and not an inspector.
I am assuming that those that got 70 made the same icon mistake, but forgot PEMDAS.
How did others arrived at their other incorrect answers (28 and 50)?

I saw how the icons had changed but PEMDAS is new to me. Math was never my strong suit. So....... 4x7=28.

I never thought to look closely at the icons either, in fact I could not even tell what the round, yellow icon was. (I considered that it might be a decorated lemon!)
I am, however, familiar with the order of operations in equations and wondered if that math rule would come into play. Then I decided I was TOTALLY overthinking this and abandoned that way of calculating my answer. Ugh!
I simply looked at this and got 3 + 1 + 1 X 10 = 50 (3 + 1 + 1 = 5......5 x 10 = 50)
This was fun! Thank you, Brenski.

I've never heard of PEMDAS.
My workings out were simply that there were 10 dots on each cookie in the first row, so 10x3=30.
For the second row, if the cookies is 10, and the total is 14, then the bananas must be 2: 2+2+10=14.
For the third row, if the bananas are 2, and both the clock faces are 3, as they say 3 o'clock, then 2+3+3=8.
Then, logically, if the clock face in row 4 now says 2 o'clock, then that must be 2, and the single bananas must be one. The cookie this time had 7 dots, so (2+1+1)x7=28.
Can't really see how I went wrong! 😄

Pemdas was BODMAS when I was at school, if that helps...
I'm doing this on my phone, so tiny changes in a complex icon are always going to catch me out.

Can't really see how I went wrong! 😄 You're reasoning is correct, but you have to know that division/multiplication goes before addition/subtraction. That will give you: (2+1)+1x7=10. I only noticed just after posting my first answer, 25, the change in the bananas. That made me to have a second look at all the pictures and notice that there were slight changes in time, amount of chips and bananas.

I still don't get it, because if you break that down: (2+1)=3, 3+1=4, 4x7=28. How do you get to 10, other than by just adding the figures up?

... and until his over-enthusiastic gardening injury heals sufficiently ... it ain't getting much better. I've tried RICE (minus the Elevation part) - and various other approaches...feels like back is being torn to f**k If it hurts, don't do it. When I put a disc out about 10 years ago, I went to an osteopath who did some work and he said movement within the pain threshold is OK, but anything above it is your body telling you to stop. I was fine sitting or lying down, but getting to those positions was agony, and I had to roll off the sofa or out of bed onto the floor to get up. One of the worst things was wiping my arse! Took about three weeks to get past the wincing stage, and about five weeks to get full painless movement back. Ibuprofen helped, but if you take too much of that it f*cks up your stomach. Good luck, mate, hope you start feeling better soon.
