In 2018, a documentary called Hitlatens Historia: We Will Rock You was released, which for the first time (?) showed joint footage of Freddie and Elton John taken during a party in the House of Commons. There was no accompanying information for these shots, except that Freddie's appearance suggested that it was for the period: A mustache and a "Flash" T-shirt. Also on the Internet there are a lot of black and white photos of Freddie and Elton taken on this day, but again without any clarifying information. Just some time ago, I came across a TV report made by another filming team at the same event. Only Elton and the other stars are in the frame. Apparently, the party was held later and did not get on the TV cameras. The report tells us that this is August 1980 - the time when Queen actively toured America. Hence the question: could Freddie have come home for a week to hang out with Elton or did the TV editors get the date wrong? Maybe someone has some additional information about this party. Thank you in advance for your help TV Report here www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaONJDzeVPE&t=1s

They had a 3 week break from touring when this party was held in early August. Norman St John-Stevas (Minister of the Arts) was promoting British music. Squad Goals

I don't see Townshend, if you're thinking he's the fellow behind (I think) Billy Connolly that's not him, Townshend looked much more like death in August 1980 than that.

True, but whoever that is looks like a combination of Townshend and Entwistle; here's how rough Townshend was looking in the summer of '80: edit: not trying to nitpick, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't actually missing Townshend!

I think that's Les Gray from Mud in front of the Big Yin. Gary Glitter in the shadows next to Freddie. Steve Harley too centre left? A very strange snapshot of what 80s music might look like

The person to the left (in the pic) of the person behind Billy Connolly is the singer from the Rubettes, so it may be a safe guess that the one who isn't Townsend is also one of the Rubettes.

I can see what you mean about the singer from The Rubettes but I'm not so sure. The Townshend one isn't a Rubette. Big fan Here's some more footage, including Freddie:

This is backstage after Queen's gig at Wembley Arena on 12/9 (with Billy Peek and Phil Chen).

Indeed - I only listed teh performers I could see, not DJs. Mike Read is in the big glasses next to Gambo. Not sure who's between him and Rice - looks a bit like Eamonn Andrews, but that seems unlikely

Looks like Ray Dorset from Mungo Jerry is in front of Les Gray & Kevin Godley.

Yes, I think you might be right with Dave Edmunds. 👍

The two guys behind Billy Connolly are neither Alan Williams from the Rubettes nor Pete Townshend. They are David Paton and Ian Bairnson from "Pilot".
The face right behind Geldofs shoulder could be Dave Edmunds

You're right about the guys from Pilot. 👍 So who is the guy with the beard next to the guy from Pilot who isn't the one from The Rubettes?
