If you could have one uncirculated Queen (or Queen-related) live recording, what would it be ?
Myself - there are a few blanks to fill in:
-anything pre-1973 -London 1977-06-07 complete
-Boston 1977-11-12 or a similar show with such a brilliant setlist
-anything from August '82 that could have a rarity like Liar
But, gun to my head - Paris 1979-02-27. No doubt plenty of Live Killers answers are contained therein.
What say you ?
Don't just give a date - give reasons

ti think the longer that goes on, the less chance of a pre-73 show turning up...unless of course, the keepers die and a relative discovers the tapes?
for me, the Boston show - every time.

Fort Worth 1977 is my #1. I've been teased with recordings purporting to be from that date about 3 or 4 times now, only for them to be other dates or be dead ends, so that's the main reason. It would also help understand the setlists a bit better, as current evidence suggests It's Late was dropped from the set from 12/2/77 onwards (besides the final night). It would also help identify some of the mystery bits of Bob Harris' footage that doesn't currently match with Houston.
San Diego 76 is also pretty high on my list. They did Hangman and See What a Fool I've Been that night, and knowing the band were in great form in Santa Monica the previous night, it's got to be a great show.
Also either Edmonton 75 or 77, just because it's the closest they ever came to my region (and even then, it's a five hour drive).

For me, it would be New Haven 1982 as my mom attended the show. In the meantime, though, others that come close would be Norfolk 1977, the only concert that the band would play in my state, and the Madison gig from earlier in the year, which intrigues me due to how little is known in regard to Freddie's vocal-state at the beginning of the tour.

Here are some of my choices for this topic: - Any early Queen show (i.e. 1970-1972): very undocumented, interesting to hear early versions of songs to see how they evolved over time, possibility of hearing previously unheard live songs (e.g. Jesus, The Night Comes Down) - Leeds 1973-11-12: first show of their first tour supporting Mott The Hoople - Canvey Island 1974-03-22: my birthday show, hearing songs with the Wurlitzer would be very interesting, would be the 1st raw recording of a UK Queen II show - Fukuoka 1975-04-25: only missing show on the Japan SHA leg - Any Australian Opera show: no show from the Australian Opera leg has surfaced yet and chances are that these shows are among the best on the tour - Any German Races show: I'm from Germany and Races tour is the only tour that has none of their German shows circulating - Boston 1977-11-12: packed setlist (probably their best setlist for any show ever), the glimpse of Sleeping On The Sidewalk shows them in top form - Any of the 3 Jazz Inglewood shows, preferably the 3rd night: apparently with Big Spender and Jailhouse Rock in the set, the band is most likely incredible, Freddie could be in good shape (altho probably weaker then the other Inglewood shows, who knows really with Freddie ) (fingers crossed JEMS find the masters or 1st gens) - London 1979-12-22: last show on the tour (if you don't count the show on the 26th), has Liar in the set, Freddie is almost guaranteed to be in incredible shape, the band is most likely tighter than at the beginning of the tour - Montreal 1981-11-25: would solve a lot of mysteries regarding Rock Montreal - Hannover 1982-05-05: potential for one of the best shows on the tour, Back Chat in the set (presumably) - Dublin 1984-08-29: if the 2nd night is as good or better than the 1st night, it most likely will be one of the best shows on the tour, no ADATR outro (which seems a bit weird) - Zurich 1986-07-01: last uncirculated show from the Magic tour, might have Freddie sound like he did in Munich for most of the show

Sunderland 73 or 74 either will do I`m not fussy. Remember seeing the posters for these shows, but my parents would not let me go.

The only show the original lineup played in my country - Auckland 13/4/1985. I'd assume Freddie sounds more fresh than the following Australia shows. I've spoken to a couple people who were there and neither can recall him appearing intoxicated. The band beg to differ though, and they supposedly had a cracking night at the office.

This would be the one for me too. Compared to most of you I'm relatively new in that I've only been obsessed for about five years now. In the beginning I used to search for this concert in every possible source before I finally realized it wasn't out there. The stories of Freddie's intoxication from the band and from Hince's book have made me curious to see for myself.

For me of course anything pre-1973 too. I would love to hear a more rough version of SCC and Hangman. And... 1979-01-23 Hanover, because it's their first time there and from Hanover exits just the bad recording from 1984 (would be nice another better source exists).

That would be for me june 27th 1970, Truro City Hall. The reason for me is simple. It is the first ever almost complete line-up Queen show in history. I'm sure they sound unprofessional at that point but i don't care. If i could listen to a tiny bit of that show i would die a happy man but i also know that will never happen unless Doug Puddifoot recorded some of it.

Probably a SBD from 1978... Those european shows of the NOTW tour were amazing. Or those early Jazz USA shows.

Definitely second night in Dublin on the Works Tour, would love to hear similar energy as in the first one. And a lot more shows from the American Game Tour, as I utterly love that tour.

1. The rest of Earls Court 2nd night - The 1st night has always been my favorite show, and I wanna see and hear the rest of the 2nd night. 2. Auckland '85 - Drunk Freddie, Hadley forgetting Jailhouse Rock. Need I say more? 3. The Sun City shows - While one concert from that run of shows came out years ago, it'd be interesting to hear more from probably the most controversial tour leg they've done. Also of note, there's that one night Freddie had to stop the show because of his voice. 4. Rainbow Theater and that one club gig they did in '79 - I just like to hear more that Crazy Tour gigs, especially that one club gig.

Blackpool 74 and Cheltenham 74 are the holy grails for me, they’re from a tour that’s extremely undocumented (the Queen II UK Tour) and both shows could have the possibility to be top tier shows
Speaking of Cheltenham 74, I was actually the one who found the tape lead (the tape listed on Bob’s site) of that show, but the tape lead seemed to not have the tape anymore.

Speaking of uncirculated, who knows what kinds of stuff may come out soon? In a span of three months, this has already come out in 2021: 1-30-77 2-6-77 super 8 source 2 2-25-77 super 8 5-12-77 super 8 11-22-78 super 8 10-28-78 source 2 4-24-79 source 5 4-24-79 pro video 4-25-79 source 6 12-4-79 8mm sync 12-22-79 8mm sync 2-13-81 source 8 4-10-82 source 2 5-29-82 source 2
And you're still asking for more ?

Pre 73 and the Sun City shows (all). Early Queen and pure controversy make for interesting listens. I'd also like to hear Montreal 77 just because its the first show in my hometown... 7 years before my birth, but still interesting to me nonetheless.
I think a silent partial video of the Montreal show surfaced at some point. Maybe someone's hoarding the audio of a full show somewhere around here...hopefully with our lockdowns and curfews it'll make its way to the internet.

The video was thought to be from Montreal because it said "Forum" on the box and it had a Quebec mailing address - but it still turned out to be from LA.
Still wondering all these years later if this Montreal shot is of a microphone...

Easily Vancouver 1980 for me. Being the first show in The Game tour, naturally Freddie is going to be in great voice. Also would love to hear this show simply for the same reason Ryan gave, it's the closest they have ever played to my region being only a couple hours from my hometown. If only the guy who recorded the 1978 one went to this one and recorded it as well!

Well, apparently the taper of Vancouver 78 taped 1 more Queen show (they person who once upon a time did the initial download once wrote me this). Personally I hope he taped the Vancouver 77 show since - like The Real Wizard pointed out - it looks like they were under rehearsed in 1980, while in Vancouver in 77 they were pretty great. Before getting our hopes up for that other recording done by "taper Fred" who recorded Vancouver 78: that guy called Fred (the taper) lost confidence in the person who uploaded the 78 show so many moons ago because it took him too long to do the transfers of whatever other tapes he was given. So, he changed his mind and decided against supplying any more tapes... All we can hope for is for that taper to change his mind one day.

One of the concerts I've always wanted to listen to is Portland, 11 November 1977; the setlist is fantastic, like the Boston show one day later (unfortunately still uncirculated).
Other shows that it would be great to hear would be:
- the three shows in Los Angeles in December 1978 - anything from the Crazy Tour 1979 - anything from the North American tour of 'The Game' in 1980.
