cheers Simon. a really tough one.
for a long time, i just wasn't getting any = other than Alice Cooper. Then the Joni Mitchell one dawned on me Monday, followed by more I'm really annoyed about #1 i posted Freddie Mercury at one point - even had Mercury, (Larry Lurex & the) Voles From Venus / Barcelona, Montserrat as the links
but changed my mind, when I couldn't make the "80" link.

Some of those clues needed two steps the way my logic works (Brian's dad's job for example), which helps me understand my poor performance.
For number 6, I could make a case for Freddie
- worked at Heathrow - Delilah the cat! - read Animal Farm at school!!

Fuck my old boots. That was a terrible performance! You got three of them, just not to the right clues! 😄 But, I could see your logic in the ones you got.

If only you hadn't changed your mind! I thought you'd have stuck with Mercury for the astronomy clue. 😁

just seemed too obvious - esp when i got three links to astronomy (Mercury, Voles From Venus and Made In Heaven). and two links to Spain. just couldn't see a clear link to the number 80. even went so far as to check keys on piano keyboards - his Bechstein was an 88 i believe - so that didn;t fit either.

So, you checked everything but the periodic table. Sheesh! 😉😁

A lot can be learnt from an old git, haha! Ritchie Blackmore, Phil Lynott, Agnetha Fältskog, and Joni Mitchell. Wow! Well, Ritchie Blackmore was the guitarist in Deep Purple and Rainbow, Phil Lynott was the singer and bassist for Thin Lizzy, and Agnetha Fältskog was one of the the female singers in Abba. Got to admit I don't know a lot about Joni Mitchell, but I think she was mainly just Joni Mitchell. 🙂

Joni Mitchell?
I'd recommend that anyone who doesn't know much about her give Laurel Canyon - A Place In Time and Echo In The Canyon a watch. You'll find out so much more about a place in time that spawned so much creativity and influenced for decades to come:
Laurel Canyon was a community in california hills, where bands, artists and photographers and other creative individuals were drawn in the mid-late 60s.
Joni Mitchell, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Eagles, Jackson Browne, Frank Zappa, Jim Morrison, Byrds, Love, Buffalo Springfield, Carole King, Brian Wilson, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Linda Ronstadt, Nilsson and the monkees. so many genuinely inspiring and classic LPs were born out of this localised counterculture community.

And it goes without saying that I'm familiar with Abba, just didn't know her name!

LOL, I'm probably older than you thought but I didn't know musicians 2,3 or 4. I looked at this quiz several times during the allotted time thinking that surely I could get 1. I'm completely embarrassed to say I didn't even get #1. I surely should have gotten Joni Mitchell since I had a huge folk period in my younger years and still listen to her. It's obvious why I need to remain a lurker.

#2 ... Ritchie Blackmore was the guitarist in Deep Purple and Rainbow
#3 ... Phil Lynott was the singer and bassist for Thin Lizzy
#4 ... Agnetha Fältskog was one of the the female singers in Abba
I was not able to answer any either ... which explains my lurking too.
