I think Liar was also one of the songs they played the most.
I'm not sure if this one counts: God Save The Queen was played on tape, and we could say that it was 'played' almost the same amount of times as Now I'm Here, as they were introduced at the same time, and remained until the last concert, with a very few exceptions.
Brian's guitar solo could be what was played the most, but I don't think it counts as a song; I believe he did a short guitar solo in the very early concerts during Son And Daughter, more less like the 1973 recordings we have.

I think Now I'm Here was the most played song. It was virtually every show except some on the US leg News Of The World Tour. This is not that accurately as reprises in a show get included on here too: www.setlist.fm/stats/queen-43d6e37f.htmlAlso a few shows after 1986 are included on there.

Indeed, it was Now I'm Here. I believe Bo Rhap was played the second most. Source: queenlive.ca "Now I'm Here would be a staple in their set, performed at virtually every show hereafter, making it the song they performed most frequently throughout the years - it was clearly a unanimous band favourite, as it is the only song they performed more than Bohemian Rhapsody."

The evolution of this song over the years would be a interesting segment for their 50th anniversary clips. It's use was different on every tour, from placement in the setlist to how they treated it with lighting and special effects. It has references to people and places and if I'm not mistaken a connection with It's Late (but don't hold me to that).

Yeah thanks Ryan but obviously I know that it wasn't performed at Live Aid or Hyde Park, I was meant to rephrase it as including some shows on NOTW tour as I just couldn't be bothered to state the obvious because it's fairly well-known. I've even wrote an article which was published on the main Queen website about Hyde Park where I mention about the no encore: www.queenonline.com/features/a-picnic-by-the-serpentine-the-legacy-of-queens-1976-concert-at-hyde-park-fan-feature-by-nathan-hodges. I thought there was a very short period between 1976 and 1978 where it wasn't played as there are a few sources which states this.

There is no reason to believe them given the amount of direct evidence we have to prove otherwise. I've also read that it was dropped at Lakeland 77 but until recording comes out, I'll hold my breath on that one.

They dropped Killer Queen for a few nights during the South American tour in 1981 mainly just due to them being sick of it, So it's not THAT unlikely to have happened, But considering it's been performed more than Bohemian Rhapsody, it most likely didn't occur.

Brian was once asked what his favourite song to play live was, and I'm sure he said he always looked forward to NIH.
If so, I can't see it getting a week off ...
And even if it did, it's a long way ahead of the second most played song, I'd have thought, so it wouldn't change the answer to the original question

So weird that they've only played it relatively few times since the Magic Tour. I always felt it would've suited Paul Rodgers voice very well. And I think with Adam they only played it as the opener for their first tour? Plus maybe a couple of gigs later on, right?

I wonder what the average Queen setlist would be if worked out?

I wonder what the average Queen setlist would be if worked out? As in take the top 20 most played songs or so, and combine them into a setlist? Would definitely be fun to figure out, can't imagine how long it would take though!

When the Detroit tape came out its omission led me and others to believe it may have been on rotation on that tour, but it's ultimately a case of the song just being missing from the audience tape (for a rather long tape flip, apparently).

It's more or less the Works tour setlist minus the '82-84 songs.

The last third of the set hasn't changed much since 1980!

The last third of the set hasn't changed much since 1980! Yes - although 1974-78 were their heaviest touring years. Songs dropped in '77 or '78 may be amongst the 20-25 most played songs, if someone's willing to do the arithmetic.

And I knew it was something I'd very recently read too.
