Brilliant! Didn’t know you could just email Spike, ha! Would love to pick his brain on that recording session, or at least what he played and how it all went down. I guess, ya know, everything. I emailed the SAS band, it was his assistant (I think) that replied. Didn't get much of an answer, it was fairly vague but replied within a few hours so that was lucky I don't think he's willing to divulge much

Chatted with Brian Zellis 2day. I asked him if he did some programming on the Miracle aalbum. And i quote
"I did all sorts of things on many tracks .. like Rain Must Fall was me and John most of the drum programming on Brians tracks was started by me. I was Brians tec and was everywhere he was from 78 till the end and a bit beyond."
I encouraged him to become member her.. So we will see. In the meantime i try to get some more details.
"Unfortunately management was very reluctant to always give credit where it was due .. it was always Brian who kept track of who did what and made sure they felt appreciated."
"But don't hesitate to ask about anything you like."
So shoot with any detailed questions we might have. He is not much online nowadays.

I need some concrete questions to ask. So any help of people with knowledge would be nice.

In a nice way, you could perhaps ask why they decided to use so many electronic drums on The Miracle and Innuendo. Was this a conscious decision to change the sound, and if so, why did they think sampled drums would sound better than Roger himself playing live drums?

Ash Alexander tells me that on tracks such as Let Me Live, My Life Has Been Saved and the guitar solo section of I Was Born To Love You, Brian would've most likely played the piano parts, and maybe David Richards. Will request an edit from the moderators.

Maybe My Life Has Been Saved? That would make sense, as it was a John track that was started in ‘93 without Brian. I believe our dear friend Seb confirmed that MLHBS was not worked on at the session mentioned. How can we know this for sure ? Have Roger, John, or David Richards stated this for certain ? If anything, it would make sense that they worked on Deacon and Taylor tracks early on.

I never realised how involved David Richards was with The Miracle and Innuendo, but have often criticised the sound on those albums. I now can't help but think it was a mistake to allow him to influence the sound so heavily, as maybe without his involvement, they might have sounded more organic and less made on a computer.
Wholly agree.
As I think it was a mistake to trade Mandel for Edney.
Well, in my opinion, he fitted much better on EJ band than Queen...
About the question if he can play guitar...Yes he can. He always played a guitar solo on The Bitch Is Back since 1984 to 1989. Also played rythm guitar on Saturday Night´s Alright For Fighting, Hercules, Teacher I Need You, The Bitch Is Back, a Rock Medley that he played from time to time and a few ones more...
The guitar solo at the end of Stone´s Throw From Hurtin from Sleeping With The Past album was played by Fred Mandel.

If anything, it would make sense that they worked on Deacon and Taylor tracks early on. It was taken directly from Ash Alexander's diary, who worked in the studio at these sessions.

As soon as I saw the name Arif Mardin I instantly thought, "Oh god. Better Midler".

We Will Rock You - That's not the story Brian first told. Play the Game - I still don't believe that. Staying Power – I was immediately concerned when I saw the name Arif Mardin on the album. Under Pressure - That's all news to me. A Kind of Magic - Never knew that. Don’t Lose Your Head – I liked Joan Armatrading at the time but her input could have been performed by a Wookie. I’m Going Slightly Mad - I always wondered why he wasn't originally credited. If Fred was not replaced by Spike, would Freddie have played rhythm guitar live for Hammer to Fall? - I doubt it as it would have limited his mobility on stage.
I never understood the severe lack of credits on Mr Bad Guy.
