I love the Fun in Space album, would have loved to hear anything from that. Drowse would also have been very welcome. Great to hear Strange Frontier and Man on Fire though yep. My Country I&II, Future Management, Fun In Space and No Violins - would've loved those in there. Drowse is a great shout too. And, technically, I reckon his band would've made Fun It sound great live.

Re-uploaded some videos. Somehow the audio on 3 of them became static, fixed it now.

This is by far my favourite photo from the tour. So many thoughts and feelings evoked here. Just look at how he's looking at her. The pride and the sincerity, and the reflection of an incredible career, passing the torch to the next generation, all in a single gaze.

I think it was fairly obvious from the gig we attended - just how much admiration and reverence Roger holds for those young(er) musicians he had around him. Their professionalism and talent alone deserve every hard-earned success their careers may bring. It also bodes well, that there may yet be some hope for the current music generation - beyond the crud that is Sheeran, the dourness of Adele and the formula of all those manufactured bands.

What a nice photo!
I´ve always felt that the Roger Taylor solo career has been the most sincere outside of Queen. He was the first one to release albums, he formed another band without the Queen surname, and after the Mercury death he made his thing on his own.
This last tour has been a nice farewell to his solo career, maybe not too much sucessful but sincere. I´ve seen a few videos of some gigs and on them you can see how happy is Roger doing this. I´m sure he enjoys the Queen shows with 10.000+ people but with this photo you can really see that he´s glad to do this too...
And this is a personal thing but i think Roger has enjoyed a lot more this tour (and this band) than the Happiness and Electric Fire Tours.

And then there are things like this:

the issue I see with the quality stuff, is: these days the cream very seldom rises to the top. it's just the way - the vast majority of the current listeners just want utterly disposable pap. btw - the clip has a really nice ring of early Yes about it. nice catch.

the issue I see with the quality stuff, is: these days the cream very seldom rises to the top. it's just the way - the vast majority of the current listeners just want utterly disposable pap. I wouldn't say it's a majority, as only half of people even listen to the radio as their primary music source these days. I'd argue that there isn't even really a "top" anymore. It's more of an ocean, and everyone has more ability to swim than ever before.
The concept of the album has been disappearing for some time now, but it's been replaced by diversity. A fair portion of people now curate playlists based on their feelings from day to day, and if they're in a certain mood it'll be Carole King one minute and Lorde the next. And if Bowie shows up, then soon you may be hearing St. Vincent.
And to bring it full circle - plenty of people we shared the room with at that Roger Taylor concert likely listen to modern pop music as well. There just aren't rules or alliances anymore where people feel compelled to declare that a single artist or genre is their everything. The gates are wide open now. If half of people are on YouTube and Spotify are listening to Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish, that's a helluva lot better than where things were 20 years ago, when we were recovering from boy bands and girl bands.
