Here's a little challenge, if anyone can be arsed to take it on. Take the Metallica Box Set (all 26 discs of LP, CDs and DVDs), keep the same format, but wipe the discs clean and fill them with what you would like if it was all Queen material. Bear in mind it all has to be based around ONE album. 😁

Nice! I’d pay real money for that! Hopefully we’d also get HOTSPACED: 1 album. 11 songs. 50+ artists all influenced by this genre-bending album.

Well done Georg! I wouldn't play the album itself (unless it was completely re-recorded using Freddie's existing vocal), but that's a great set of extras.

Imagine hot space, stripping freddies vocals, but getting someone like guetta or martin garrix to make the backing tracks, that would be good! I would if I knew who they were! 😄

I made a set like that several years ago including outtakes, demo's, live tracks and more. Received a lot of rare tracks since them. Maybe nice though this challenge to take a new refreshed look at it.

Lord Fickle It's there, just as a f*ck you to the archivist. Funny thing is, I'm sure JSS would've actually cooperated with QPL (not GB directly) had a boxset like this been planned with them wanting to include Hangman.

Argh! I'd just fully typed it, only for all my text to randomly disappear! Guess I'll have to do this again I'd choose a King Crimson - The Complete 1969 Recordings-like box-set (which happens to also have 26 discs in total ). Of course the number of CDs required here vary, but I've chosen however many King Crimson needed for simplicity. For this challenge I've chosen Queen II, but any album could be chosen and handled this way. We'll sadly never receive a release even close to this because of QPL being the way it is (especially within the lifetimes of the original Queen fans), not even being able to properly document their archives and only spreading misinformation about what's in there. If only some of our talented members could enter that heavenly place... I present to you: The Complete Queen II RecordingsCDs 1-7: All recorded concerts from the Queen II tour, including Live at the Rainbow, March 31st 1974 (2024 mix, without pitch-correction or overdubs) CD 8: The album, additional material (B-sides etc.) (original master) CD 9: The album, additional material (2011 remaster) CD 10: The album, additional material (2024 mix) CD 11: Instrumentals (2024 mix) CD 12: Alternate mixes CD 13: BBC sessions CDs 14-19: Complete recording sessions DVD* 20: The album, additional material (original master) (stereo). The album, additional material, instrumentals (2024 mix) (stereo, 5.1) DVD* 21: Complete recording sessions Blu-Ray* 22: Promo videos, alternate takes (2024 remaster/mix) (stereo, 5.1). Interviews, concert footage (2024 remaster/mix) (stereo) Blu-Ray* 23: The album, additional material (original master, 2011 remaster) Blu-Ray* 24: The album, additional material, instrumentals (2024 mix) (stereo, 5.1) Blu-Ray* 25: The album, additional material (2024 mix) (Dolby Atmos) Blu-Ray* 26: Complete recording sessions * DVDs and Blu-Rays contain highest possible fidelity audio

I wonder if any of the tapes from the recording sessions still exist? That would certainly be a fascinating insight. Interesting question that I've not considered before... It is of course possible the tapes were simply discarded, but I have a feeling they'd have to be out there somewhere. Can anyone here offer more insight on this?

I was just thinking that probably back in those days they were still a bit strapped for cash, so may have just had to reuse the tapes rather than saving stuff.

That could indeed be the case, however Brian (or am I confusing him for someone else?) being (or... having been, judging by his latest release) quite the archivist, I think he would've wanted to keep those tapes.

I assume CDs 1-5 should actually be DVDs, but I'd take that. In fact, I'd take any special edition of ADATR, as it hasn't been touched so far.

Some nice box sets in this thread, pity QPL will not get any ideas from it. But who cares the cassette is making a comeback. :-)

Good set! They could actually do something with those demos, assuming they still have the masters of them. If the album also had a decent remix, it would sparkle.
