Got mine today. No signed piece anywhere in sight. No covering letter to say it will be sent later. No email to say the order had even been despatched, nevermind a note concerning the signed item.
Anyone got theirs yet and found the same?

QPL does not have a stellar reputation for avoiding fuck-ups.
Hopefully QPL will realize their mistake and send "another" autographed copy of GH.

I'm aware that with the "Around the world" signed sets, they sent out the signed booklets a month later - but at least QOL included a note to this effect with the delivery of the CD...
I've emailed them anyway so will post their reply when I receive one.

And this morning I discover they've reduced the price of the coloured cassettes! They really are taking the mick and will be told as much.

I think I saw that the cd was sealed after adding the signed plate. Did you check that?

The CD has also been reduced to £4.99 at retailers like HMV and Amazon. I guess it's to encourage one last push to make sure they reach #1 by week's end? I feel like that was the specific goal all along, considering how there are at least nine different physical releases of Greatest Hits this year, including that bundle where you purchase five copies at once. Maybe QAL's Live Around the World hitting #1 encouraged them.

Good old Bri lol.
It's definitely on for the Number 1 spot. 4,000 copies ahead of its nearest rival.

Sorry but I'm sticking with my LP issue of GH that I received for X-Mas in 1981. I've never bought pre-recorded cassettes so that's out too. And finally, I bought a 'cut out' CD of BTTL at a record show in 1994. So I'll stay with that too.

I agree that there is a concerted effort to get back to number 1.
Why? What's the motivation? Touring drives catalogue sales, and is presumably profitable of itself anyway. They've got brand awareness from licensing songs to shit adverts and the brand imagery to purveyors of random tat.
Do they need the ego boost if having a #1 album go BACK to #1? If one is going to manipulate the charts to get a #1, why not try and get albums that didn't get there originally?

Living in the social media world makes it so much easier for celebrities (in particular) to 'sensationalize' certain 'milestones'...how's that for 'posterity'? Not to mention the ego boost Brian and others could get if the album did go back to #1. pg could be right - maybe they do need it. Which in my view would be pretty sad.
On the other hand if, as pg suggests, they were to try to manipulate the charts to get other Queen albums to heights they didn't attain previously, that could be a more logical, worthwhile effort.

If one is going to manipulate the charts to get a #1, why not try and get albums that didn't get there originally? I wonder how much is influenced by the record label. Brian and Roger have said that they're really not interested in celebrating the group's anniversary, but would Universal Music be satisfied with that, especially with all the potential after the movie? A Greatest Hits re-release campaign in multiple formats might be almost like a compromise; Universal gets their sales and publicity, and Queen's team doesn't have to work on some intensive anniversary project that Brian's not keen on doing. I'm assuming the most work Brian and Roger had to do was sign 1000 autographs. (I'm probably grossly oversimplifying the business side of things!) Side note: the cassette with Roger on the cover sold out first, followed by Brian's today. Did they have a higher production run for the Freddie cover?
