We all know that this amateurish artwork for Queen release was made using 35 mm screenshots of the movie. Does anyone know where the background image of the stadium was taken from? It also has this 35 mm feel.

You mean what second in the video does that shot appear? Yes, or simply to describe the placement of these shot in the movie.

I'm not sure if or when the shot appears in the movie but you can see a fuller view of it in the bluray menus

You can even find the song that shot was taken: In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited yes, the Freddie foreground overlay was taken at the last section of "Whoa, whoa, la la Whoa, whoa, oooh" before he sits at the piano. However, the backdrop is not from the movie - as every movie shot you see of the stadium is not from that angle and are all too dark. the stadium clock says 2:45 - so this is a red herring: either the clock is faulty (stadium would not have been full at that time of day) or - the shot was a photograph used to form the final composite - and not a still from the movie.

Ahhh, my bad. I tried a quick look in the 16 camera video, not a lot to go on. With all the lights on, this is probably before or after the concert.

Very likey as people are looking in every direction and not at one point - the stage.

It'll be after. Before the show was more or less daylight.
