Sheer Heart Attack Queen
I run around freaking out for a bit..
Live Magic
Yep. That's the three I grabbed.
Can I live without The Miracle, A Day at the Races, Jazz? Yes. What about The Game? News of the World? I will miss them. Hot Space? It will live in my heart. The Works, A Kind of Magic? They are fondly remembered relics of the 80s, a lifetime ago now. Innuendo? It is a sad album. Queen II? A hazy memory. A Night at the Opera? Will be missed. Live Killers? Inessential. Made In Heaven? An emotional coda to Queen's career, but inessential.
SHA is Queen at their artistic height. They got better in many respects, but lost more than they gained after this point. Queen is raw and heavy but is the sound of a young band when all they know is that which they really are. Live Magic is the pomp of later Queen in a neat package, including the best of their 80s songs (OV, AKOM, UP, AOBTD, RGG, HTF).
Do I ever need to hear Bo Rhap again? WWRY? I will make do with the Live Magic versions.
The world is burning. Grab three Queen albums. What are they, and why?
(Greatest Hits I and II have already melted in the heat.)
THIS IS NOT A LIST THREAD!!!EXPLAIN YOUR CHOICES!!!

The world is crashing down around my ears and the first two albums are easy - On Fire, and Live in Montreal….
And then I run around like crazy…. Are these too similar? Should I swap one for Live at Wembley? …
As much as I love studio Queen, live Queen is my true love - the songs that weren’t quite to my taste on a studio album are more fun on stage….
But do I take at At the Rainbow for early magic….
Oh no! The fire is coming closer - I have to decide….
Live in Montreal - for Somebody to Love and Flash…(I know right? But every time I play this album I end up repeating this track…) Live at Wembley - I was there - it’s a tangible piece of the world that I have to leave.
What now? The sirens are screaming and the fires are burning …. But no that’s not Queen…when the sun hangs in the sky and the desert has sand….
I think it’s Innuendo coming with me. For the title track, loud and the last BIG Queen number and for the joy of RTWW and Headlong and because TSMGO was played at my daughter’s funeral. But I would never play Delilah….
Are we leaving on a spaceship? Are there other Queen fans coming? Do we have time to quickly decide who brings what so we get them all?

The Cosmos Rocks (3 copies)
- One to play on loop. - Unopened one as post-apocalyptic bartering valuable. - Last one as pizza cutter. Also doubles as frisbee, coaster, scarecrow and more!

A Night At The Opera - it was the first album I bought of the band, and it's possibly their most important as it gave them Bohemian Rhapsody, their first major chart success. As an introduction to the band, ANATO has everything - the heavyweight stuff with DOTL and Prophets Song, mainstream pop with YMBF, the beauty of LOML, and the complexity of Good Company. It also throws in a couple of jaunty fun numbers, in LOASA and Seaside Rendezvous, making it arguably their most diverse collection of work.
A Day At The Races - at first, the 'disappointing' follow up to ANATO, but over its 45 year lifespan, it became my favourite Queen album. The recording and production still sounds fresh today, and with Somebody To Love, Millionaire Waltz, White Man, the band proved they could still write incredibly creative songs, and the rest of the tracks aren't too shabby either.
News Of The World - I know I'm an old dinosaur but I couldn't rescue the first two without also taking this one. It contains my favourite ever Queen track, It's Late, and also showed a more organic side to the band, with almost 'live' sounding recordings. I could live without ever hearing Fight From The Inside and GDML again, but WWRY and WATC will still be played in centuries to come.

to be honest: If I were grabbing any three LPs, Queen would not be a choice. These days it'd probably be Abbey Rd, Hotel California and CSN first LP.
but, to keep within the thread rules: Races - one of the first LPs i ever owned. a classy LP with great production, and absolutely no filler. NOTW - a change of direction for Queen, in keeping with the changing music scene at that time. the impact of the Punk Rock Asteroid was merely a flesh wound for these rock dinosaurs. I or II - i can't help it, someone will have to make this choice for me. for so long II was my favourite Queen LP - with I a close second. these days i think these two may flip/flop 3rd or 4th.

I'd have to pick my 3 favourite Queen albums, in order:
1. Sheer Heart Attack 2. Queen II 3. A Day at the Races
Same as Brenski, though, if I were to pick any 3 albums, Queen wouldn't be my choice except for maybe SHA. I'd also pick Alice Cooper - Muscle of Love and Metallica - Ride The Lightning.

tM - a fun album that helped get me through three mental health hospitalizations in six months. tIM, B and RMF are among my favorite Queen songs.
aDatR - so many classics: TYMD, YTMBA, tMW, YaI, StL, D & TT
SHA - A great mixture of hard rock (BR, FotW, SCC) with light hearted songs (KQ, TF, M & BBtLB).

Oh, difficult.
Queen II, Innuendo and Made In Heaven. Oh no, I've just run back in to save The Game and A Day At The Races. I died.

Sheer Heart Attack - I love this album Queen II - same as above Live Killers - for a few missing songs (and some of my other favorites)
The others? They will be missed dearly, but I think I can pull through with these

Pretty easy for me.
- Innuendo
- The Game (Dragon Attack would be really funky while I'm being burned to death)
- Sheer Heart Attack

This is an incredibly difficult decision to make, but here I go.
As a complete package, I might have to go with A Night at the Opera, A Day at the Races, and finally News of the World. I think this string of albums (and you could add Sheer Heart Attack) was their strongest consecutive release of albums. They go from strength to strength only to reinvent their sound and approach by the third act. An immaculate collection of music and it really shows the band's staying power and versatility. Songs like 39', Long Away, Seaside Rendezvous, The Millionaire Waltz, Drowse, Spread Your Wings, and My Melancholy Blues are pure gold in the Queen arsenal. Couldn't live without those...ever.
If solo material would be allowed, I might have to trade one of those albums for Barcelona, which is Freddie's masterpiece and for me features some of his strongest compositions.
....
Of course, in reality, I'd just grab two things.
My iPod (which has EVERYTHING including videos and movies) and my charging cable. Hopefully I'd find an outlet amongst the fire and rotting corpses. But hey, I've got the music to drown out the sorrow and awful decomposing flesh. S'all good with Queen in my life. Word.

The Miracle, SHA, and Innuendo, if only Queen proper is considered.
If solo work is an option, I'd switch any of those out for Another World, Mad Bad and Dangerous to Know or Blue Rock.

A lot of love for The Miracle and Made In Heaven! I used to give The Miracle a bit of hate. But lately I've really, really warmed up to it. It's a damn solid album.

Queen II ANATO Live Killers Made In Heaven
...I've never been one to follow rules.
You couldn't pay me enough to eliminate one of these four albums from my diet. I cannot possibly quantify how important they all are to me.
