About time! Weird for an album to remain unreleased this close to the actual date. Can't wait!

'Foreign Sand' is a completely new recording. I wonder about japanese bonus tracks. It's awesome! I love this intimate version. Roger is outstanding at versioning. More of these, please. It's online here as well. I almost forgot about a Queen member releasing NEW material. "Is this the real life?"

Any guess about setlist of the tour? Judging by the amount of time they have for rehearsals, we probably get some classics like AKOM, TATDOOL, RGG, IWTBF (?), hope for Tenement Funster and maybe ILWMC (prefer the first one). Maybe Heroes and Rock'nRoll as well. An what about from his solo catalogue? Strange Frontier, No More Fun, Sunny Day and some new stuff (Clapping song for opener would be fun, 'Purple' Gangsters or More Kicks could have work pretty well)... 0. Journeyās End (Video Intro) 0. Tides (Intro Tape) 1. AKOM 2. Gangsters 3. Outsider 4. IWTBF 5. No More Fun 6. Sunny Day or I'm A Drummer In A Rock N Roll Band 7. TATTOOL 8. Isolation 9. Laugh Or Cry / Let's Get Crazy (feat RT on drum solo) 10. Man On Fire 11. Tenement Funster 12. Strange Frontier 13. IILWMC 14. Weāre All Just Trying To Get By 15. Heaven For Everyone ('And that's the end... of this section') --- 16. Happiness 17. Under Pressure (with Tyler) 18. Rock N Roll --- 19. Radio Ga Ga 20. The Clapping Song (Outro Tape) I have just finished listening to the record. I never judge an album by the first listen. However, having now listened to it, I will revise my guess set list a little bit: 0. Journeyās End (Video Intro) 1. Tides 1. Rock It (Prime Jive) 2. More Kicks 3. Sunny Day 4. A Kind Of Magic 5. No More Fun 6. Strange Frontier 7. These Are The Days Of Our Lives 8. Laugh Or Cry / Let's Get Crazy (feat RT on drum solo) 9. Gangsters 10. I Want To Break Free 11. Man On Fire 12. Tenement Funster 13. Weāre All Just Trying To Get By 14. I'm In Love With My Car 15. Heaven For Everyone ('And that's... the end... of this section') --- 16. Happiness 17. Under Pressure (with Tyler) 18. Rock N Roll --- 19. Radio Ga Ga 0. The Clapping Song (Outro Tape)

On first spin, itās great. I wasnāt sure if there would be a āflowā to the album, but the pieces fit together nicely. The opening few tracks are great, with āTidesā and āMore Kicksā being a standout. āWeāre All Just Trying To Get Byā has grown on me and I appreciate it a lot more. The new version of āForeign Sandā is beautiful and the album finishes off with one of Rogerās best ever efforts in āJourneyās End.ā
Well done, Rog.

Just listened to the album for the first fime (still hoping to receive my LP later today...) I love it. Reminds me a lot of Happiness (still probably my favourite solo album)
The title track is a standout for me and although I was a bit confused why he chosed to include a new version of Forgeign Sand I have to admit I love it.
I am going to play this a lot this weekend.

Some nice tunes, some nice performances, and some nice arrangements.
For me, though, very few of those intersect.
Nothing really stands out to me, but that reflects more on my heathen tastes not developing along the same lines as RT's

And after finally seeing Genesis this week I'm well up for going to see another great singing Drummer live..

Got the CD this morning but nothing to play it on, so have had to snag a download from somewhere instead.
So far as expected, very similar in style to Fun On Earth but overall better taking into account some of the tracks that have already been released. Tides is a great song. Haven't got to some of the later tracks so I'll have a good listen and see how I feel about it later.

Tides - 8/10 nice tune, quite experimental in Bowie's style (at least for me)
I Know, I Know, I Know - 7/10 great drum sound, good bridge between intimate Tides and loud rocker More Kicks. Slightly inconspicuous, but I like the sound of it - the modern blurry sound of Tides and this song reminds me the shock when I realised tha Journey's End sounds like nothing RT has ever done before
More Kicks - 7/10 suprisingly more instrumental track with vocals just in first minute and half, but really rocks!
Absolutely Anything - 8/10 first part the same as in movie (just with more effects on vocals), second part is all different, soudns like RT paired two standalone songs, but witch nice harmonies it flows really well
Gangsters Are Running This World - 7/10 nice slower piece in nice rythm
Weāre All Just Trying To Get By ā Featuring K T Tunstall 7/10 - KT provided some really beautiful vocals, I like the way the tempo is getting faster and drums are more expressive towards the end
Gangsters Are Running This World ā Purple Version - 9/10 love that song since it was released back in the 2017. It has energy, proper drum sound
Isolation - 6/10 - works better for me in this tracklist than a solo single, but I don't like this song so much maybe for the drumbeat sound...
The Clapping Song - 8/10 - old fashion-fun with the 'ancient' drum kit, slower but rockier cover of the old song (which I didn't know before)
Outsider - 10/10 - when Roger goes personnal, it works pretty well for me (I love Where Are You Now? from Electric Fire with similar theme), I guess he was counting himself as a kind of outsider when he was a child and this is the way he copes with that. If it's true or not, I listen to this song repeatedly and for me it's the biggest and positive surprise of the album.
Foreign Sand ā English Mix - 6/10 - older voice (new vocal take), but the same tender expression. I think it will need some more time for me, because I prefer more complex original version and broader range of its vocals, but it fits with the atmosphere of the album
Journeyās End - 10/10 - masterpiece, the most matured song RT has ever written in my eyes...
So conclusion? 7/10, I found it more solid than Fun On Earth, with less rockers and fast tunes (like I'm The Drummer or Up), but with longer, more sophisticated compositions. Fun On Earth seemed like the collection of short singles, with shorter, compressed songs. Outsider offers more time to develop the instrumental parts of most of the songs, even has enough space for longer solos.

Gave it a few listenings and must say I like it much more than I expected. Considering the fact that weāve had some of the songs released in recent years, I wasnāt sure that the album would flow as a unit (thatās precisely the problem with Fun On Earth) but it feels cohesive, at least to me, and thatās something difficult to get these days. Tides is wonderful, and Absolutely Anything too, amongst others. Really happy with the new take of Foreign Sand, a song I always loved, which finds here a more instrospective, raw rendition. All vocals are pure class. Bravo, Roger!

This has been the best release in a long time. So happy for Roger that he found the inspiration and energy to put this all together during the pandemic. Iāve had this on rotation all today while I work. A real enjoyment.

What a treat. Iāve eargarly anticipated this album since itās announcement. Yes there are previously released songs on it, all of which I enjoy. So we have a collection of possibly Roger last solo songs, throw in some new and nearly new songs and I am very impressed. 5 outright new songs. Title track is simply perfect and tides is very close behind. One of my favourite old songs, foreign sands, has had an upgrade. Wow just wow. Got my fingers crossed for the Japanese extra tracks (mines in the post as of today) Happiness? is one of my all time favourite albums ever. Outsider is already my 2nd favourite Rog album. Well done Roger. I canāt wait to sing along with you in Cardiff next week.
