What songs in the Queen catalog have you not had a chance to play live, either solo or with Queen, that you’d love to take a crack at? RT: I’ve got to figure that out when I start rehearsals! I’ve got to see what works best for this great new band we’ve got together. I’d probably do “Radio Ga-Ga.” “I’m in Love With My Car” maybe. “Tenement Funster." There’s a song on my last album called “Up,” which kind of got ignored. We’ll have a look. I’ve got to see what works. I want it to be a real fun tour and a very rock 'n' roll tour. ultimateclassicrock.com/roger-taylor-interview-2021/?utm_source=tsmclip&utm_medium=referral

Just received it here in the states from Amazon. I had planned to listen to it immediately but now I’m hesitant, knowing it might just be the last new Queen-related album I’ll ever get to listen to for the first time. Throughout the day I’ve asked Alexa to play it but she keeps telling me it’s only available on Prime music plus (or whatever) which I don't pay for. I shut her down cold and tell her to “shut up” every time she goes into her sales spiel. I suppose it will eventually show up in my “library” now that it’s been delivered.
As for listening to it, I live in an apartment and don’t want to enrage the folks on the lower floor. Don’t want to damage my hearing further and use headphones either. Think I’ll wait for the sun to go down and then head out for an evening ride in my not-so clean machine of a dream!

More Kicks sounds very familiar to One Night Stand (The drum tempo, the main riff). Very nice album. A true Roger 2000's sound. Intimate, solid.

I have listened to the new album a few times now and am happy with what he has delivered. Emotionally I initially always tend to be more drawn to the more fast paced songs, but on this album only More Kicks delivers that rush. Still, after a few times listening to it, the softer ones, or the rest , start to kick in as well. Although I could immediately connect with Tides. Great atmosphere. I did not like the Clapping Song when it was released as a "single", but I really like it now. A fun song. As Maxi mentioned, More Kicks initially sounded like One Night Stand to me when I heard the main guitar riff. Not a bad thing though.. I was however struggling with the nbr of background vocals and all vocal layers in the beginning. ie on I Know I Know I Know where he sings these words. It just sounded a bit overused on the album, but I have gotten used to it now. And I still think that KT's involvement is unnecessary and the song should have been completely like the last 10 seconds where the tempo goes up a bit. Also still think that it is odd that we have two versions of Gangsters on it, even though they sound completely different. If he had to use that plus Foreign Sand in order to get a full album, he should maybe otherwise have left them out and released ie two EP's. Overall I am very happy with it

More kicks sounds to me like his 70's Queen songs a bit, bit like a One Night Stand and the massive drum sound is similar to his work on song Wrath from Jayce Lewis' solo album.

Is there any fan around here that could confirm that will record any show from the tour? I'm really more interested on this tour than any one from Q+AL

A set list has been leaked. I won't post it here but will say it looks great.

I'm really liking the album! First release in years that I consider worth my money. I didn't have much faith in Roger pulling off a good album, but he totally did!
Beyond the known tracks, the absolute highlights for me are:
"Tides" There's a symmetry between this song and "Journey's End" that wraps the album perfectly. Beyond cool opener!
"Absolutely Anything" I didn't expect this one to develop so nicely after the original teaser. When the light drumming kicks in, it feels so right. The extended ending is unexpected but so good too!
"Foreign Sand" (English mix) I always felt like this song never reached full potential. By stripping it bare and making it more intimate, it presses the right buttons inside me. Such a beautiful version that takes me by surprise completely.
Hats off, Roger. Thank you for these jewels.

Great gig last night, band very tight, Roger in good spirits and voice with a few surprising choices in the setlist which could've only have been improved with another couple of songs. Rog clearly reading the lyrics on a few songs off a teleprompter,
Anyone going, you in for a great night, enjoy!

Has anyone seen any confirmation why Jason Falloon is not in the touring band? He was announced in the original press release as being on guitar but was recently replaced, so something in the plans obviously changed.

Could anyone tell me what time the concert started and finished last night please, as I've a long drive to get to Nottingham after work and home again. I've also a spare ticket if anyone is interested.

Very disappointed that he's not there, absolutely love Jason, lovely guy too. From the videos I've seen the new guy he's got doesn't cut it for me.

Even by Queen solo standards, you guys don't really think this is a good album, do you?

Even by Queen solo standards, you guys don't really think this is a good album, do you? For a guy into his 70's it's way better than I expected it to be. It has a nice flow and (in my opinion) very little filler, which I kinda expected after Fun On Earth. Will it change the world or will it end up in my "favorite-albums-of-all-time"-list? Probably not, but I applaud Roger for still making new material and just putting it out there and having some fun instead of just enjoying holidays on his boat and doing big gigs with QAL.

I've yet to hear the album in full, but the tracks I've heard so far haven't sounded bad. I did however listen to More Kicks last night, and to me it sounded like two slightly incomplete ideas tacked together. Good to hear some real drums, though. 🙂

I've now heard the album in full, and I think Tides, Absolutely Anything (shame about the fade), Isolation, Outsider, Foreign Sand [English Mix], and Journey's End are my favourites, with Foreign Sand [English Mix] possibly coming out on top as the most delicious surprise. Not that keen on More Kicks, which as I said before, sounds like two offcuts stitched together, or either version of Gangsters, but the rest are perfectly OK. Glad to have some additions to my iPod shuffle tracks, as there hasn't been much out for a while.

So after listening a bunch of times now, I have to first agree that it's always tough to judge a new album when there are quite a few previously released tracks. I'm not complaining too much as we did get quite a nice number of treats!
Absolutely Anything might just be my favorite - That second half when it kicks in is great
Tides is a great opener
Foreign Sand was a big surprise. I love the full bombastic Yoshiki version a TON. So when I heard it was going to be stripped back I didn't expect I'd like it by comparison. But damn it it worked!
More Kicks is fun as hell. Though I agree it is just two songs stitched together and it goes on a little long. But it was nice to hear the real drums rocking out.
I Know I Know I Know was a fun little bittersweet track.
Overall this is a pretty damn good album. Hard to know where I rank it tbh but I'm excited that Roger still felt creative enough to cobble this together. I hope it ain't the last but if it is, it's a decent one to go out on....

Exactly this! Roger just delivered a very decent album, which is very coherent and has very little fillers. I was a bit afraid of that, because 'Fun on Earth' was quite disappointing to me. 'Outsiders' is not as good as his first two solo albums, but a very pleasant listen just like the 'Happines?' album.

I've barely listened to Roger's album (started new job last week and I'm exhausted from it) so I've not listened to it in entirety.
The three songs I seem to like best are Absolutely Anything, We're All Just Trying To Get By and Foreign Sand. AA seems to be my ultimate favourite.

The remixes are good. In fact, the Surrender mix is better than the original (for me) but London Town is ok, it have a new rap in the middle of the song that I don't like it. He adds some claps and stuff to make it more "pop" but it didn't work. The album came with the cover in big size (like a 7" single size) as well.
