Interesting release fo Greatest Flix I & II on a single DVD, double sided. Probably, correct me if i'm wrong, the only official release on dvd of the Innuendo videos. Here the info from Discogs: In 1997, Queen struck a deal with Pioneer to release this double-sided DVD set as a freebie with their new DVD player. Approx 30000 numbered copies were pressed - however, after Pioneer had to re-call the player due to some technical problems, thousands of the free discs never saw the light of day. The majority of them were later given away at the 23rd Queen Fan Convention in 2008 as a "freebie". The disc holds 35 promo videos in all from Queen's original Flix and Flix II releases on PMI, and has a running time of 142 minutes. Released in the UK only. Maroon digipack with Gold titling and iconic Queen crest. Tracklisting and artwork on inside sleeve.I've got a copy of this and i must say that the quality is not the top. Seems just a vhs rip of the two VHS.

My copy seemed to skip at Love of My Life, but it wasn't a pre-owned copy and was barely played. I no longer have it, but often wondered if I just had a faulty disc or of it was a known issue across the board.

Seems just a vhs rip of the two VHS. Strictly speaking, the official VCD has the same content (in vastly inferior quality though): the Innuendo videos + Flix 1 videos in their original 4:3 AR.
The quality is fine to me, as expected with its age. I don't think there's a better source for those other than CM's restored videos. Not sure if there's a Laserdisc version, which wouldn't be any better.

Laserdisc has a lower resolution than the dvd but if dvd has a rip of a vhs i think the laserdisc is better. Just ask to Chief Mouse for better information about that.

Was there a laserdisc release of the Greatest Flix? I've only seen We Will Rock You on LD before

The Laserdisc analog composite format provides roughly twice as much resolution as the NTSC VHS format, indeed. However, early DVD releases probably feature video encodes that could be inferior in quality to the video provided in the best mastered Laserdiscs.

Damn, I gotta find me one of those as soon as I could get my LD player restored. Also, no surprise that this was a collab with Pioneer as I believe they were just starting to release DVD players at the time.

Innuendo videos appears here and there... for example, the Innuendo video appears on the CD+DVD A to Z compilation on USA. I'm Going Slightly Mad appears on the Jewels DVD and The Show Must Go On appears on the recent compilation on Japan. Technically, the other two (Headlong and TATDOOL) appears on the DVD Greatest Karaoke Hits, but they appers with the lyrics on the screen, so...

Greatest Flix were released on Laserdisc, and they look better than on DVD. LD has uncompressed analog video.

They definitely could do with doing a blu ray or similar to bring everything up to date
I liked the commentaries on the DVD too

Mine also skips on Love Of My Life, and as I recall, that is a well known issue of this release.

If you look at the specs of the video on this disc, they're at half resolution, ie 352 (I think it is) instead of 720.... Been a long time since I ripped the disc and looked. That may account for the poor quality.
