Just thought I’d say that I messed up the location which ultimately threw off the entire date. Brian said he recorded the storm in France. Anyway, the actual date is July 14th, 1978, and it was recorded in Nice, France before Queen headed off to Montreal on July 15th / 16th (The Tour de France never came near Nice but did go in Montreux). The thunderstorm lasted roughly an hour and a half, and it was sourced by the weather reports at the USAF Surface Hourly observation. There were no thunderstorms in October when Queen back in France in October. The worst weather was moderate intermittent rain, but there was a thunderstorm at 2:00am on September 28th, 1978, so Queen could have returned earlier that month and added it onto the album. Just thought I would say, as it’s better for me to write the correct information, my sincere apologies for the confusion.
New Short Answer: July 14th, 1978, 9:30pm to 11:00pm OR September 28th, 1978, 2:00am.
