I wanted to matrix analog recordings, but they don't match up easily. I tried to speed correction or splice to match other one. but won't worked or it's very hard due to it needs a lot of work.
however some users making matrix of analog recording, Is there easy way that I didn't know?
Give me some advice! Thanks.

there's no easy way. analog recordings drift constantly, it's just usually not at a noticeable rate (unless you try to sync 2 or more of them up). in the professional field there are/were ways to automatically keep them in sync, but they can't be done retroactively. matrixing is a lot of work.

I see. so Is there how to fix(?) drift? I tried to fix by chop up audio but it will be out of sync after 10 seconds.
I don't think every users chopping up audio every 10 seconds. If so we didn't get many matrixes

It's not easy. You have to basically do it piece by piece. I did a matrix of a 3-hour Led Zeppelin from 1977 show and I think it took me two weeks to complete. If you have the patience, it can be done, but it's not for everyone.

Don't chop the audio up, match the speeds instead or you'll get phasing issues. The sync intervals may vary, but you'll still have to adjust the speeds regularly.
There are 2 reasons why many people are making matrixes:
1. they aren't doing it properly (for instance: with all due respect to Pittrek, who has certainly given us a lot of good merges, i don't think his matrixes are any good; admittedly, i can't do them well either) 2. those who do it well are VERY dedicated and may spend 100+ hours manually syncing them up.

Thank you for the information, is there good way to correct speed? math way and software etc.

Thank you, I haven't thought so many people have patience. but I think my matrix way definitely has some wrong way, so I wanted to know correct and smart way.

I found this thread while trying to find out what a matrix is. I’ve seen the term used but never quite got its full meaning
I get that it involves lining up/speed-correcting two recordings of the same show so precisely that they're in phase, but what's the rest of it? Why is it called a “matrix”?
