Hello everyone again 👋
I've not been here for months, I don't think since November or even October. Work and family things have taken over my life but things are getting quieter again.
Can anyone be kind enough to point out any interesting discussions or threads since my absence?

Welcome back mate! Well, Sikke returned for a few months, giving us a rough cut of the 1984 Queen special, Fred's surprise performance of Jailhouse Rock at a pub in 1982, the first reel of the Uniondale 1977 footage, and some more footage of Queen walking to the stage in Knebworth (although on his YouTube channel, with no links in typical Sikke fashion)
Brian's Wig graciously gave us the footage from the acoustic set of Tokyo 4/24. We also got Madison 1977, which is the earliest show from the year with audio!
I'm sure I missed a bit, but these are of the things I can remember on the top of my head lol

I didn't know about that Madison show, very intriguing as it's very early on in the tour. Sorry I missed your summary, the site isn't very good on mobile devices - I missed my notifications!

Don't make me sound like a git! I'm sorry but I didn't ask to read all the threads as I haven't got hours - I just wanted to hear what was really good and Sammy B. Willickers was kind enough to do it for me. I ALWAYS view the forms on the Recently Updated Threads page but I may not do a thorough enough job.

I personally think there should be a weekly summary page with all the latest discussion and discoveries. Almost like a daily news summary like there is at the moment. Or like The Real Wizard 's annual Baker Dozen.

Or like The Real Wizard 's annual Baker Dozen.  The thing is, what some might consider important, others might not value so much. I could make a song and dance about all the fantastic new games threads, but I understand that they are quite a niche market that doesn't appeal to all. Unfortunately, when you're away from a forum for a while, it does lead to some catching up, and the New Threads (different to New Posts) link is probably the best place to start. You don't need to read all the threads, but you should be able to find those of interest to you fairly easily.

I ALWAYS view the forms on the Recently Updated Threads page but I may not do a thorough enough job. but that applies to all of us! It's the only place to find everything recent. There is a recent threads plugin, but I tried this on another forum I was running and folk hated it because it was highlighting everything that had been updated - which is objective. Unfortunately, what one person deems interesting is subjective, and probably isn't the same as the next person's view. I doubt that Internet forums are able to create "recent lists" tailored to individual tastes (yet). So we have the New Threads option or nothing, unfortunately.

Most of us can't keep up with all the links and info, and things get buried too easily.

Look, if someone wants to take the initiative and do a weekly digest or whatever, go for it, no one's gonna stop you. But there are plenty of features the forum has already baked in to help keep up to date; a cursory glance at the Proboards admin plugins indicates that a weekly digest is not one of them.

I was thinking maybe every six months.

I was thinking maybe every six months. In some ways, that would involve even more work, as someone would then have to research back over the six months in order to put a summary together. And then you'd have someone complaining that their thread / post / whatever had been missed.
