Freddie's Vocal on Face It Alone Analysed

Yeah, obviously I can hear the difference now that thing with the little 'dip' has been pointed out, although a little devil inside me wants to argue that it could have been a different take. I remember Brian saying in one of the documentaries that Freddie could sing two takes so identically that they would 'phase' on the tape, so how do we know that there wasn't a take with the 'dip' and one without?

Also, if they corrected that, why didn't they correct the little falter in his voice at 0:50, on the word 'fire', when he sings 'fiiyeerr' and his voice drops a bit at the end?

As I said, I can hear it now, but I wouldn't have heard it otherwise, and in my opinion, it's all a fuss over nothing but it keeps that YouTube guy amused. 🙂

No, autotune only sounds robotic when it's used incorrectly.... Unfortunately most music technicians and artists nowadays use it incorrectly.
Autotune was ment to correct slight off-pitched notes in nearly correct sang parts.
It was not ment to make completely incorrect sung parts sound correct, because that is simply impossible without hearing the use of autotune.
But I'm 100% sure that even you don't hear the autotune when it's used correctly.... In fact, I'm quite certain that there are instances where you will say no autotune was used while in fact it WAS used in the correct way.
