I have been trying to recreate the synth sound from These Are The Days Of Our Lives on my Korg M1, just for fun, and I feel quite certain on it mostly being Digital 4 (program 86) combined with some other sound, and then a bit of either Magic Organ or Wind Bells too in the guitar solo. But I just cannot figure out what that other sound is. It sounds like bells (but not the bells preset) and is most noticeable at the end of the chorus, but I think it appears in other parts too, just quieter and maybe with a lower filter. I read online that they programmed their own sound for the song, but that obviously isn't entirely true, since there are still recognizable M1 presets, maybe just tweaked a bit. So I'm guessing that the unknown sound is also some preset, just heavily modified. Does anyone know what sound it is? Or, if it isn't a preset, is there a way to create it?

Let me see if I have this straight.
- They've said it was specifically programmed - You don't agree because you can identify some presets - You can't replicate it all using presets
Have I missed anything?

I'm not sure if someone from Queen has said that it was specifically programmed. I just saw a website saying it was. But except for that, you have understood it correctly. The last sound might very well be specifically programmed, but maybe it's a modification of a preset that I just haven't figured out yet, and maybe it's possible to replicate.

Actually, could it just be the Digital 5 program, just modified a bit?
