Well, if there's bugger all "Queen" coming out for 2021, their 50th anniversary, other than the re-re-re-re-release (ad infinitum) of Greatest Hits, I guess The Beatles can have my £110 then for their 6 disc "Let It Be" boxset, with 100 page book rammed with info and interviews (not just a smattering of poxy photos), original album mix, remixed stereo, surround sound Bluray mix and 3 CDs of recording sessions. Queen ain't NEVER going to top a Beatles release (unless it's on "LESS value for money"). And it's not as though this stuff is being released after all the Beatles are dead. QPL really have no excuse, as we know they have the material. I'd bet though, a Queen release of this size would be at least double the price of this Beatles set. |

I really hope they soon decide to sell the catalog.. wouldn't make a scrap of difference. "the catalogue" is the actual content of official releases to date. it certainly would NOT included anything unreleased - either in the archives or in band member's own collections. so even if they sell the catalogue, that constitutes umpteen further re-issues of previous releases and a million more uninspiringly dull re-issues of Greatest Hits. Can't. F**king. Wait.  |

I agree that the only way to get to 9 discs is to plump it out with pointless vinyl.
But you missed the Mike Read "Queen for an Hour" interview, which was to promote the Miracle and nicely fills a disc with nothing new at all....

This would be the interesting release...No vinyl or ramdom stuff...Just CD/DVD/Bluray items.
Even wasting 1 CD for the regular album, 1 CD for extended versions and B-Sides, 1 DVD, 1 BluRay, 1 CD for the 1989 Interview...This would mean 4 CDs with Outtakes/Demos...
BUT...We DO know that this won´t happen...

Are we being heard once for a propper album release with A LOT of bonus content???
What always has annoyed me was the fact that they messed up the colors of the 2011 CD cover. Always thought it would be great to have a decent digital copy of the front cover that isn't scanned from a booklet.
I'm going slightly off-topic but does anyone seriously know what happend to the big poster of the front cover from the "The Invisible Man" video? Was this a promotional item at the time or was it done entirely for the video only?

Why do you think it will be different? Or do you mean the mastering/packaging? Genuine question, btw. I think it'll be a re-release much like Greatest Hits was. For reference - This is the 2011 single disc version. This is the 2011 LP release. |

Why do you think it will be different? Or do you mean the mastering/packaging? Genuine question, btw. I think it'll be a re-release much like Greatest Hits was. For reference - This is the 2011 single disc version. This is the 2011 LP release.
There was a re-release because of the slipcase. The only chance of having it on the vinyl edition too.
My guess now is that the box set will be a big digipack with a booklet definitely.

OK, my bad, I didn't actually look at the original link. I still can't help but be sceptical. I mean, what the hell are they going to put on nine discs? I'll be pissed off if they include all the separate CD Singles on a disc each, as they could all fit on one CD, as could all the demos we know about, and I doubt we'll get them anyway. There's obviously no live stuff, so that could conceivably be one disc for the album, one disc for the singles, one disc for the demos (possibly), and one DVD or Blu-ray for the videos. Even if they did a DVD and a Blu-ray that would still only be five discs. I guess there could be a remix of the album as well, but I'll be very surprised to see that. I'm guessing they could possibly be looking at a November release slot to capture the Christmas market, but if that's the case then I'm surprised Brian hasn't mentioned it at all yet in any of his Insta posts or videos. |

Don't worry it's very easy to miss as it's only in the link and not on the product site.
My expectations are usually very low but CD singles in a box set in 2021? That would be a horrendous waste of space. One key reason to collect CD singles is to have the non-album tracks or extended versions.
All them tracks would fit on one disc easily. 5 CD singles with a depth of 0,7 cm per case would be 3,5 cm leaving 1,5 cm what could be a digipack but without any box around it hopefully...
My guess is that it will be either a CD box set like "On Air" or a pretty fat digipack.
What could a Blu-Ray / DVD feature?

Queen 40th Volume #2 (10 CDs in five plastic double-CD cases, booklets, and a poster): 12.8 x 14.81 x 5.69 cm; 621.99 GramsQueen On Air 6-CD set (6 CDs in cardboard sleeves and a booklet) 13.49 x 13.31 x 3.1 cm; 278.11 GramsQueen Singles Collection #1 (13 CDs in cardboard sleeves) 12.45 x 14.22 x 1.02 cm; 417.59 GramsSo, The Miracle 9-disc box is very close in size to the 10-CD set, but 200 grams heavier, even though it's one less CD and likely without all those plastic cases and booklets. And, we can see how light the sets with cardboard sleeves can be. So where's the extra weight coming from? An extra-fancy box? It's about the same weight as the 8-CD Crown Jewels box, but that's a fair bit bigger. |

Good detective work! I should point out the single LP/ CD editions are just speculation from clicking through formats of that listing. I think the 9 disc and weight/proportions are accurate however as they are listed as such on different territories. But it's not impossible, looking at the different formats/listings, that there could also be a 2CD version, a vinyl LP (presumably exclusive/coloured?) and possibly a cassette too. The Miracle is an excellent fresh album with 5 singles out of 10 tracks and 1 epic. Yes, it has probably the worst opening pair, but it doesn't mean the album is weak.
The album should be even better with TMLWKY in the original place (+1 more single). I'm glad the 'The Miracle' deluxe box is the next release. Hope it would worth it.

It's an old and much laboured point of view, but I think it's the sound of the album that makes it mediocre for me. If more of the tracks had the production values of Was It All Worth It, it would have been a much better album, in my opinion.

Queen are never, ever going to re-release an album with an entire contemporary live concert as a 'bonus disc'. I mean, I'd love to eat my words, but based on the last 30 years, forget it. And I agree it is a mediocre album, but must presume/hope that it is the volume and quality of bonus material available that makes this the first deluxe after NOTW worth compiling/releasing. Anyway I think QPL leaked the Amazon links because the Miracle lyric re-writes in this thread were getting a bit too close to the bone.. |

Anyway I think QPL leaked the Amazon links because the Miracle lyric re-writes in this thread were getting a bit too close to the bone.. i doubt very much that we're on QPL's radar - and even in the strange instance that we were...they really couldn't give a f**k what we - or any other fans think. The last 30 years has been proof of that. as for the Amazon links: these count for nothing until they actually become reality. lots of stuff appears on amazon that never sees the light of day. |
