I know people shit on the restoration of this concert, but this pleb doesn't have the skills to notice. Queen - We Will Rock You was the first Queen concert video I bought, I wore out my VHS copy. Huge nostalgia factor makes this my favourite. Already bought tickets!

I saw it in a regular cinema on about 2004 (I think when it came back to QPL), it was definitely a worthwhile experience.
In these days of big screen TVs, I wouldn't travel far to an IMAX, but if you're within an hour's drive of one, I think it would be an experience.

One of those times when I'm grateful to live in NYC =) We've got one on basically every other corner! Excited for this!

While a part of me feels excited to watch it in an IMAX, another part of me is quite unmotivated to do so because of the overdubs
If there's cut footage or performances from an alternate night, I would go for sure.
EDIT: after reading the comments above, it seems im not going.

27 dollars is pretty steep for a show i seen many times, but being the sucker i am I'll probably give in. Some of their best performances were at this show.

At least some early release had it, I have a DVD that claims to be from a laserdisc release that has it in 4:3 and even lists it in the original credits, although I'm not 100% on what exactly the DVD transfer was made from.

Anyone know if this will be shown in real 70MM IMAX ?
Digital IMAX aka "LieMax" is BS but 70MM IMAX is well worth the extra ticket price.

Then I have even less idea where the DVD I have comes from since It's definitely not from the 2001 DVD nor the 2007 DVD/Blu-ray as the colours do not match either and there is more of the bottom of the frame and less on the sides when compared to the 2001 DVD. (2001 and the DVD in question below)

I thought it was shot on 70MM on a film format that is very similar to IMAX ?

MovileVision which the concert was shot on seems to be have been a rival format to IMAX.
I don't know how it compares t0 70MM IMAX on the big screen but it should definitely be better than standard 35MM.

I can agree with the other two things, but in 1998, Roger said he's "sure that there's a rough version somewhere", his wording

Just bought my tickets to see it... at the Montreal Forum, where the show was filmed and which is now a cinema with an IMAX screen! How cool is that

I’ll finally get to see this on the big screen! I had tickets to see it at the Hampton Coliseum (I think) in Virginia way back in 1983 or 84. But it was canceled and I had to turn in the tickets to get my money back. I’m sure I still have the newspaper ad in a box. Here’s a link to what Brian had to say in 2007 when Queen Rock Montreal was released: web.archive.org/web/20080305062720/https://brianmay.com/brian/brianssb/brianssboct07b.html(For some reason I can’t pull this date up on Brian’s actual website.) I’m really looking forward to this. Just wish I had an actual imax theatre near me and not a bunch of imax experience theatres (or “liemax” as Queenfan23 put it)

I think it first appeared on the 2001 DVD. It first appeared on a DVD in 1997. This adds to the mystery of where the rest of the footage is, and how another song suddenly popped up over a decade after the original VHS release. But if they weren't able to acquire any new footage in 2007 after the director died, it seems pretty clear that there is no more to be found.
