Real Name: Marc Location: Montreal Age: 36 Times saw Queen: depends if you count Q+AL - if so, twice. if not - given my age and location = 0. Trading? i only have what most of you have - so nothing to offer, more to gain. Claim to fame: I did a show and tell on Queen when i was 10. First Queen album: News of the World back in 1989 - i was 5. I was given carte blanche to listen to my uncle's records, finally. promised not to wreck them. Welcome mate. What's your favourite track off NOTW?

Thistle you are a fan of the Phantasm films? Absolutely. The second is my favourite. Thought the whole thing ended quite oddly with Ravager, but hey - that's Phantasm

Hello folks,
Here's to polite conversation.
real name: Paul location: Ireland age: 47 times saw Queen: None. Went to the Fred tribute concert and saw Brian on the Back To The Light tour. trading: I've posted an interview with Brian & Roger and a few Fanclub mags from 79/80 but that's it. I think I may have given away my Man On The Prowl 7" a few years back 'cos I can't seem to locate it. claim to fame: I tend to shun the spotlight first queen album: The Game

Oh hell, I might as well give this a go:
Real Name: James Location: Scotland Age: 39 Times saw Queen: never with Freddie/John. Saw Q+PR and Q+AL once each. PR was far better! Trading? Used to do the old snail mail in the late 90's, and ended up with some real cool stuff - which is now bread and butter for free on QZ lol Claim to fame: My second cousin managed Queen and Elton John. His name is John Reid. I've never met him. Met Brian and Roger at the King's Theatre in 2011. Brian was nice, Roger was okay to me but a dick to others - probably because I didn't wave shit in his face. Also met Rufus, who was very down to earth and happy to talk for ages. First Queen album: Made In Heaven. That was my first "my" Queen album, but I had been well introduced by my parents, who owned everything from Queen II to The Game. Early Queen fandom was me dressed in a vest and jeans, pretending to be Freddie whilst miming to I Want To Break Free. I was 4 or 5.

I like the 4th. Ravanger was good for what it was, it was all made in their spare time with no money. It breaks the back to back follow on from the cliff hangers which is a shame.

I really appreciated they put it out, and know it was a labour of love, but it just ended so oddly. Phantasm is a real mind f*ck, from start to finish. I take different things from it every time, but I never tire of it

What I am worried about is what happens if the hosting company decides that sharing torrent or megatype site links is reason enough to shut down the board. Can't see why. As long the links don't breach copyright, there's no issue.
The overwhelming majority of stuff posted is audience tapes, and in most jurisdictions, very long story short, it is legally sound.

Hey everyone, hopefully, this will be the start of a new chapter of QueenZone's life. Thanks to Richard for keeping the site up for all these years and for still paying the hosting costs, but it's time for an upgrade. It will be sad if QueenZone disappeared but hopefully, if everyone got most of the legacy forum posts on QZ to here, we wouldn't lose much. Maybe I'll start copying most of the major ones here that I created and maybe (if I'm permitted) share posts by other people on behalf of them? -Chin Fantastic - thanks for taking care of that. It will no doubt be a ton of work.
I guess it's the announce section you're primarily referring to, yes?

Also, since we're starting fresh, maybe someone could create a new Database file that bokkepoot had? -Chin I'd say it should simply be each recording having its own thread. As long as the search function works well, that's all we'll need. It's the shitty QZ search function that necessitated such a database to begin with.

Hello boys and girls,
So glad to see a fully functional forum with all the avatars, working links and hopefully a healthy collective. I know the idea has been floating around for some time, so big thanks to everyone involved in the behind-the-scenes hard work and patience to make it a reality. Hope you keep it up and running for a long time!
My name is Sina Jakelic, a 40 y/o Croatian musician, currently living in Norway. First time I saw Queen was in a local Croatian newspaper, 26th November, 1991. I was 11. The title read simply but horribly blunt, 'Freddie Mercury died'. Little did I know he will become my single favourite artist, a lifetime inspiration and a personal hero for the rest of my days. The more I learned about him, the more I loved every bit of music he created that I could get my hands on - with Queen, solo or collaboration - the more I felt a hole that nothing could fill. I suppose most of you know the feeling, like something is missing or as if a good friend is gone forever. My first contact with him was his parting, so the shock and realisation of that loss came in waves for so many years. Still does. The more you love him, the more you miss him. I've probably spent more time with Freddie than with some members of my family. The sheer amount of music, and inspiring energy eminating from his interviews, written words, lyrical wisdom, bold lifestyle and determination leaves such a strong positive and inspiring mark for any sane human being. So, I've never had the luck as some of you did, to see him perform live. All the more reason to be a part of place like this, to get a glimpse. For a true fan, there is never enough material to read, watch and above all, listen.
Didn't plan this post will go this way, but writing this made me go and dig up the archives of that Croatian newspaper and find that exact article. Fortunately it is easily accessible online. I will translate it and share it on the forum, if you are interested. While searching for the exact date (they reported it on the 26th), I was sure I still remember the exact picture they used, even though at that time I didn't know who he was... It got completely etched in my memory, hard to explain, but there it was. Only difference, I remebered it being a centerfold article, over 2 pages, when in reality it's a little picture and a short article. Either I was small or it made a big impact...
Nice to be here. Cheers!

More or less yeah, unless stuff was shared via the request board or something. I’ll start doing that over the next few days, all the big stuff first. -Chin

This looks awesome. Hopefully we can go troll-free forever. I know with Steve and Brenski at the helm, it will be a well run, friendly place Glad to see the familiar faces and names. Btw, this is Thistle from QZ. Was gonna change name and avatar over there, but thought fresh forum, fresh start. I'm carrying a dagger myself. You have been warned.

My turn Name: Alex Location: Philippines Age: 23 Times I've seen Queen: Never. 1st Bootleg: Thank You All. Some random fact: I once thought that what the contents in Live Magic was exactly what they performed for their last concert together, and I thought "that was a cheap way to play your last gig together" (I was just a kid then) This was before I got Thank You All.
