I've been able to listen before it got taken down and that pitch correction on Roger might be worse than the infamous Rainbow stuff what the hell are they doing LMAOO. I was defending the PC on The Night Comes Down and said they apparently learned how to apply it without turning Freddie into a robot but they clearly haven't learned a thing

Um....You're saying that all 30 pages are negative, and any post-release pages will be positive. That's....an opinion. I said "mostly" and "more," not "entirely," and thus did not even remotely suggest that the entirety of the subsequent 30 pages would be exclusively positive - that interpretation existed only in your head. I'm always careful with my wording of these things, an attention to detail that continues to evade you as you're so often jumping to conclusions and seeing whatever you want to see to fit your narrative. I also made it clear that it's about *balance*, not absolutes. That's two straw man arguments in as many days. This kind of attention seeking may have worked at the wild west that was Queenzone, but it will not fly here, where we strive for decency and civility. So knock it off - this is your final warning. Was this final warning discussed with the other moderators?

then the point will be made that people are more preoccupied with complaining about the things that are wrong than celebrating the things that are right, on a product that any reasonable person should be able to conclude gets far more right than it gets wrong. Time shall tell. IMHO, that is an opinion

I guess ignorance is bliss, because I can never hear any of this pitch correction people are talking about. Nothing egregious stood out to me on Modern Times. EDIT: Just did an A/B test with the 1973/2024 songs - vocals sounded identical to me.

Time shall tell. IMHO, that is an opinion No, it's you inserting semantics. If you're a serious Queen fan and you think a bit of pitch correction outweighs the fact that over an hour of 50+ year old music is being heard for the first time, then why are you even here ? A treasure trove of music history from the early seventies is about to be opened up, and the fact that you have not even inferred a single positive thing about this while overtly defending the negativity is quite telling. I just took time out of my day to scan all 31 pages of this thread, and there's not a peep out of you about the things that are good. At the risk of sounding like your therapist: why are you so preoccupied with giving a microphone to people who are more interested in the negative aspects of something than the positive aspects ? What is your horse in this race ? I feel like I'm becoming a broken record, and that people like you and pg are here primarily to be contrarians and breed chaos. And if I'm wrong, then here's a golden opportunity for the both of you to clear the air and convince me and the rest of this community otherwise.

I hardly noticed the pitch correction on The Night Comes Down too, but I'm afraid it's very noticeable on Modern Times, especially between 0:10 and 0:15 seconds for example. Roger suddenly turns into a tin can robot

^ the guy who made the statement about the second single has been pretty accurate with his info so far. When folk were speculating about a possible box, he told you there definitely would be one. When the date was speculated on, he gave a pretty accurate release time. He even gave TNCD as the first single, when folk thought that wouldn't happen. I'm not saying he's going to be spot-on this time, but I wouldn't dismiss it either. Ah ok. I read it as a sarcastic joke, especially when ppl started to talk about it being MTRNR, which clearly does not sound like an obvious choice for a single, no offence, Roger

I can't wait to receive my box and hear all the audio. I actually haven't decided yet what I will listen to first. The remix, the unheard live tracks or the studio disc.
Maybe I should just listen disc by disc and stand the temptation. The natural thing to do for me would be going straight to the 1970 live tracks... How very special they recorded their third show, first London show and we get to hear bits from it.

Why people seem to think there will be more singles? It seems to me somebody just made a sarcastic joke about more singles coming up and someone else took it seriously....Why there would be a second single? Wishful thinking, if you ask me. I imagine when brian and roger signed over the rights to sony, then sony are now in charge, can release what they want, remixed queen 1, stuck pitch correction on bits and pieces, on showing to brian and roger, who must have frowned when hearing it, then remembered the money they got from it and kept their mouths shut. far too many "assumptive leaps" there ^ in the absence of any comment from Brian, Roger, Sony, or Uncle Tom Cobley there are NO conclusions can be drawn. although your imagination may be as accurate as anyone else's, it is (by default) also wildly inaccurate. ^ the guy who made the statement about the second single has been pretty accurate with his info so far. When folk were speculating about a possible box, he told you there definitely would be one. When the date was speculated on, he gave a pretty accurate release time. Modern times rock n roll would be the next single if I don't get wrong. When it will be released? Have we got a date? Why did you decide that the next single would be the Modern times of rock and roll? Yes, I understand that according to the logic of the album after The Night Comes Down comes Modern Times of Rock'n'Roll but for some reason it seems to me that it doesn’t work that way. Also, after the release of the single with Roger's vocals, there will be new moans like "They autotuned Roger, I'm canceling my pre-order." You was right about new moanings... BTW, check out post #55

And if we come back to 2020, we´ll se how EJ fan have got more than 70 unreleased studio songs (from 60s) -Jewel Box, interesting live concerts in his Youtube Channel and other stuff which has been new among collectors. Elton's Jewel box is indeed mighty impressive ! But it still isn't a reason to condemn another band for not doing something similar - do you know for certain that Queen have dozens of unreleased songs in their archive ? Side note: people even complained about this Elton box set. Whatever you do, don't click on this link to see the comments proving that some people will never be satisfied: superdeluxeedition.com/news/elton-john-elton-jewel-box/#comments-161063"...superfluous deep cuts," says one person. Egads, what is wrong with people ? What are you doing on the superdeluxeedition site if you're not interested in unreleased songs by your favourite artists ?
I don´t know how many song they have in their archives. But if they would have done things in the same vain than FM Box things would be different with me.
About the EJ thing....Agree with you . Here in Spain we say "You shouldn't give daisies to pigs"

A bit strange that MTRNR just appeared on the channel. Are they going to do a proper release and was this just an accident or leak?

Sorry, Antonio. I have no intention of generating controversy with you but I am surprised that you say "you shouldn't give daisies to pigs". In your last comments you say that "Queen's releases between 1997 and 2006 are rubbish" and "you haven't bought any Queen item since 2004". You have also shown obvious disdain for The Miracle box set, News of the world box set, Rainbow and other releases that have taken place over the last 10 years. Do you think Elton John's box has daisies inside? What do you think the Queen boxes contain?

Use a vpn, set it to ie Australia and you can view the video. I think it is a great mix. The drums are very much in your face. I am also very fortunate to not be able to hear any AT so bring it on!

I actually don't really like the 2024 remix of this song very much, so I did some tweaks of my own. Brian's guitar had its mids lowered WAY down, so a lot of the energy of the original song got lost. I tried to make a compromise between the two.
The original 1973 vocal wasn't very nice to work with- it has WAY more reverb on it than the 2024 remix's vocals, which I actually think sounds quite nice pitch correction aside.
I used iZotope RX to match the EQ in the vocals from the 1973 version to the 2024 version, but the original vocal track isn't as detailed due to the reverb muddying it up a bit. It's not the ideal sound, but the best I could with what I had. I restored the panning and reverb on that little scream before the guitar solo too, dunno why they removed that.

OUT NOW on Spotify. I don't understand why releasing it without any post or adv on social medias... for sure that they will put on social media on the morning. Basically at 12 midnight is when the new tracks or albums appear, and in this case it seems to be just a second digital single, so they will mention around the morning for sure

Basically at 12 midnight is when the new tracks or albums appear, and in this case it seems to be just a second digital single, so they will mention around the morning for sure What a strange decision nowadays where each artist wants to create hype in people waitings. The mix sounds good to me. The autotune I read in the previous comments is not as bad as I imagined. It's not too present as TNCD, but just here and there if you pay much attention. Even the guitars and the bass are good to me. Nice mix! I just don't like, as a drummer, the drum sound. Of course is kickassing and punching in face, but I don't really like that snare. It sounds too perfect and fake, a plastic snare. The only real sounds of drum are the Cymbals... Of course I'll buy the new release and I am happy with the singles. In this case you can't do a mix without exaggerating details (snare, volumes), without these things it would be the same mix as the original. I wish one day to see a new mix by Steven Wilson just like the Ultravox's Vienna. I really like the new track, so... Let's wait for the 25th! Can't wait!

IMHO, the final warning is excessive, and not representative of QueenChat moderation over the past several years. If we’re customers could I buy four hours of reading time and an hour and a half of posting time. Also do you do special offers, maybe buy five hours get an hour free. You could do a deluxe package too, six hours split between posting and reading with a guaranteed refund if you read something you don’t agree with!

I'm no audiophile, but I don't think this mix is too far removed from the track we all know and love. The drums are punchier, and there's only one spot I noticed where Roger's vocals sounded different to what I remember. I don't have that big problem with anything so far. I'm just excited we're getting the new demos and live tracks. If I end up hating the new mix, I have plenty of other sources to go to.

For example, A Night At The Opera is surprisingly dull. There's a ton of weird issues in its high end that I guess they "swept under the rug" by turning down the high end frequencies. They only turned down the high frequencies on digital releases, and in my opinion, they don't hold a candle to most LP releases I've heard. I will say, a lot of the earlier ones have an element of brightness (some might say a touch too much), but the DCC vinyl in particular is anything but dull 👌🤩 Can't wait for that anniversary to roll around 😉 I suppose what we have to weigh up now is, if they're going to remix an album, it's a given that it'll contain elements we don't agree with. Vocals being the obvious one, but the loudness doesn't get talked about enough. Overall, ANATO is beautifully dynamic as is, and quite crisp-sounding overall (digital listeners may not realize this). A 'perfect' mix? Nope. But I'm willing to bet it'll outshine any attempt at a remix on their part, unless if something drastically changes internally and the loudness wars suddenly disappear 😅
