I love when bands remix their albums. It makes it fresh after so many years and listens. I'm all for achieving the best sound you can from an album. As far as auto-tune if it isn't too obvious I don't mind it all

with the release of MTRnR [all 01:48 of it] as the promotional single for the boxset, are we heading into Ramones' song lengths? If so, we can expect the next "boxset singles" to be: II - Nevermore [01:18] SHA - Dear Friends [01:08] Opera - Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon [01:07] Races - Overture [01:02] Jazz - In Only Seven Days [02:29] Flash - The Ring [00:57] MIH - Yeah [00.00.4] By comparison to the others (above), The "single" from Jazz could be considered a QPL 12" extd release Yeah is a guaranteed global smash wait til you hear the 12" dance mix: dum-dum-dum, dum, dum, dum, dum dum...Yeah!, Y-y-y, yeah!

I thought this was quite a common fact, no idea where it stemmed from but it seems to be a lot on websites and maybe even books. None of the official releases mention JA singing on it, but if someone can confirm where this was first mentioned, that would be great! I've heard this so many times that it has become absolute fact for me, but I couldn't tell you where I read it first! I think I read it first in As It Began, in the discography section where he’s noted as an additional musician. I don’t have a copy of the book anymore, and archive.org is down, so I can’t definitively confirm.

Maybe it's just coincidence, but lately when I'm requesting my Google Home to play "sleeping" music for when I bring my 3-year old to bed - it has started playing The Night Comes Down multiple times

The new mix sounds pretty good, there's been some adjustments but people saying it sounds robotic are being very dramatic.

I’m very curious how the atmos mix will sound. Is it available for Modern Times anywhere on the same platform where TNCD was available?

I want to be fair, probably there is pitch correction in all songs, they find it unnecessary. I am not music producer or engineering, from what I can understand is that, when remixing a song there are new adjustments and alterations in frequencies. So a pitch correction was needed. I don't find it annoying, the whole sound experience is very different, more powerful with clarity, while the original 1st pressing has warm sound and eire atmosphere.

Just listened the second single. OK, Roger needed more royalties. A nice remix, but I really don't understand their choices. If they want to showcase how great their new remixed album is, surely they could have picked a song that's more dynamic and with richer arrangements.
More to the point, it is the box set they are trying to sell. Why do they only release remixes from the album? I think a taster form the sessions disc would have been a better choice for the second single. OK, they don't have a new song to present to us (like they had with The Miracle box), but I think a new version with "new" vocals by Freddie would make a bigger impact to their audience than a remix of MTRNR.

Didn't Someone say that there would be 3 singles? If that's true then I'm guessing the next single has a chance of being Son And Daughter, As it seems they are going in album order. But we are getting quite close to the release date, So they don't have much room for a third single.

Only two single sleeves were prepared for promotion, so there wouldn't be a third single, I guess.
I hope QPL will start to post video clips after 25th October and hopefully some unseen stuff as well.

Maybe even St Johns Wood Studios versions, as one still is uploaded on the official website, and it looks pretty good. At least the remastered videos will look better than on The Miracle box set.

I don't see that MTRN has been released as a single, neither digitally nor physically. I only see that the digital download can be purchased through places like Amazon, as well as the audio through YouTube. Does that mean it has been released as a single? I think that a single is something else different than this. There is no videoclip, no physical edition, no special promotion, nothing at all. If we consider that this is a single, there will be 8 more, until the 10 songs on the album are avaliable.

I don't care if you don't notice it, but it's definitely very distracting to those who do and to say it's "overly dramatic" is so self centered. I don't care about this problem, so everybody who does is ridiculous!
"Fifty eight that was great, but it's over now and that's all" in particular sounds BAD. The artifacts are nowhere near as bad as they were on the 2014 Live at the Rainbow live album, but they're still very distracting.

I think you're confusing me saying I think people are being dramatic with me saying everyone who disagrees with me is wrong. I already made it clear in previous posts that I get why some people don't like the fact processing is being used, I also pretty clearly stated that I can hear and notice it (not sure why you're implying I can't), it does not sound "robotic" at all though. That is being dramatic, sorry.

On October 4, 2024, the following was published as news on Queen's official website: "The QueenOnline.com exclusive standalone 7" vinyl single, 'The Night Comes Down' is officially released today." On the same website, the following was published on October 11, 2024: "Listen: 'Modern Times Rock n' Roll' Available Today." There is no more text. It is not said at any time that it is a digital single. From my point of view, and based on what is communicated on the official Queen website, MTRNR is not a single, it is a song from the album that they have previewed and that can be downloaded officially.

Surely, if a single song digital download counts as a sale on the relevant platform, then it must be a single? Also, if Modern Times Rock ‘n’ Roll ends up on the Sony release “Queen: Greatest Hits 4” then it was definitely a single!

As far as auto-tune if it isn't too obvious I don't mind it all This ⬆️ 100% The only previous experience I have with a much loved album being remixed is Station to Station by Bowie. I really did enjoy hearing a new mix of it when it came out a few years ago, but now, not so much. Never listen to it. Completely reverted to the original. I’ve never heard the Beatles remixes (yet). I actually think I’m more likely to stick with listening to 2024 Queen 1 over the original but time will tell. I can imagine the same for Queen 2, Jazz and Hot Space if they remix them, but I’ve no desire to hear any other Queen studio album remixed for stereo.
