The longevity of the technique being used isn't proof of what Brian and Roger know or are privy to. They could've still been in the dark, because it's entirely possible that they can't even hear the difference. Most people can't - especially people their age. But now that Brian is aware of it to the point that he turned off comments on an Instagram post, we'll see if it shows up on subsequent box sets. If there will be box sets in the future. I haven't read the interview Brian did with Mojo, but apparently he more than strongly implied Queen II was next.

Sorry, it's factually not true that the turned off Instagram comments. That's probably word that relayed so many times, got twisted and went unchecked. It's so easy to check if he did - and he didn't. I heard they were turned off and back on again. I guess there's no way to prove it now.

I used to like Jools's show but nowadays I've never heard of most of the people on it. Maybe that's because you're not watching it

He didn't said that is the next one, he said that is the other one that he would like to beign remixed in the future.

What i was wondering having heard new snippets of the remastered DLL demo's, didn't they have those back in 2011 for the deluxe treatment of the albums and went with Brian's acetate instead? Indeed, this seems to suggest the masters were found in the last decade or so.

Pitch correction has been used since 2004, so Brian and Roger absolutely know that it's being used and are more than fine with it. Brian and Roger have used pitch correction themselves for things like their new vocals on Doing All Right revisited. The longevity of the technique being used isn't proof of what Brian and Roger know or are privy to. They could've still been in the dark, because it's entirely possible that they can't even hear the difference. Most people can't - especially people their age. Do some folks honestly think that an artist and/or sound engineer will NOT continue to make their own artistic decisions on future projects because of a minority of the fanbase on social media criticising it?? Really?? THEY are the artists and they can do whatever they like. We really ought to respect whatever they want to do.... as potentially unpopular as it may be with some people. Don't get me wrong... I am, to a degree, playing devil's advocate here. That said, why should anyone feel comprised making artistic decisions?? It never bothered George Lucas for example. And once again.... THE ORIGINAL MIXES ARE STILL AVAILABLE (sorry for shouting!!)

He didn't said that is the next one, he said that is the other one that he would like to beign remixed in the future. Close enough. Hence "implied." Brian typically doesn't say this kind of thing unless it's going to happen. Case in point, in 2021 he first mentioned the 1970 live tape, and here we are with a box set where a couple songs from it are being released.

Pitch correction aside (and for the record I have no problem with it in this case as it doesn't 'step' in a robotic way, a la Cher) we can all agree that the AI visuals in the TNCD's promo video were awful and embarrassing. Whether Roger's drums have been radically EQ'ed and compressed or if they've simply been beat-mapped replaced for samples they sound GREAT!! The Teo Torriate HD remix is so good that personally I never listen to the original ever. But of course.... YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY ;-)

The sessions discs are the sole reason I buy these box sets. (Okay, maybe the packaging, too.) My ears are too shot anymore to notice any subtle differences in remastering, and I'm not too concerned with there being a concert included (though I certainly think one should be for what they're charging!), but the two, soon to be three, sessions discs that have been/will be released are a goldmine to me. Queen live is a magnificent beast that plenty of intelligent, talented, and dedicated folks are busy cataloging and chronicling, but Queen in the studio is still shrouded in mystery, and we only get dribs and drabs. I'm doing my part in trying to impart any information and knowledge I collect along the way; I know very few people give a hoot that four takes of Father to Son were recorded on August 6, 1973, but I've always been fascinated by the whole thing. I hope someday this kind of information is more commonplace.

Very well said Georg! I would add the book as part of the good reasons to get this boxset. I'm keen to see new photos and any additional accounts from Brian and Roger that we may not have heard yet. The DLL masters photos are promising so hope there's more stuff just as worth!

Any idea how many of Queen 1 2024 Box Sets are going to be released ? Is it a limited edition of say 10,000 /15,000. Any idea how Queens other Box Sets sold , The Miracle , NOTW , Live At The Rainbow ? I'm curious about the numbers, too....if anyone has any insight that would be very interesting!

I recently saw the News of The World box set at 50% off, and I'm sure at some point, the Queen I box will go down as well. Dunno about the numbers, as mentioned in the previous post - but I'd keep a look out for sales / discounts etc etc on various retailers. I've bought a handful of box sets over the years when places like amazon have a specific sale targeting such releases. Not always well advertised, and not always for very long, but if you keep your eyes open for it... (just realised I bought Brian's BTTL + AW box sets during one such sale. Both of which were half price) also; check out www.superdeluxeedition.com - they're often good at pointing out box sets which can be found in a sale. (https://superdeluxeedition.com/category/deal/)

Thanks for the information Eiricd I have not given up hope yet of getting hold of the new Box Set , the only thing that put me off slightly was the inclusion of vinyl as I don't have a turntable to play it on and have no plans to get one. I am so happy with my Marantz 6007 CD & Amp I don't think a turntable would really improve the sound quality that I already have, unless I spent a lot of money.

Anyone who says they've been completely replaced just doesn't know what they're talking about.

Compared to bands like The Beatles, where every day and individual take seems to be accounted for. I've always been MUCH more interested in this side of Queen rather than the live, so I'm also eager for every tidbit that comes out. I hope for a definitive account of Queen studio sessions one day.

That's mostly because Mark Lewisohn and Elliot Mintz were given full archival access in the '80s and '90s respectively. The Beatles really are an anomaly in that department. The only reason we've heard a reasonable portion of Zeppelin's creative process is because a bunch of tapes were stolen from Jimmy Page's house circa 1988. Try being a Pink Floyd or Genesis fan - most of that stuff is guarded like state secrets. Queen is somewhere in the middle. And all the fervent few can do is piece together the puzzle from whatever tidbits have survived.

It's priced like a deluxe, premium, thorough, even complete product. And yet.... They haven’t included the book because they couldn’t find a way to auto tune it! That's called auto correct UK English to US English.

20-30 unreleased songs? You Don´t Fool Me Mother Love It´s A Beautiful Day A Winter´s Take Face It Alone Let Me In Your Heart Again There Must Be More to Life Than This Feelings Love Kills (Ok I´m gonna count it...) All Dead, All Dead Even is not near of 20... (If you count "alternate takes" well I could agree with you...But they´re not 100% unreleased songs, but takes) Made in heaven album (11 songs). No one but you. Forever (3 songs) The miracle box (6 songs). News of the world box (2 songs: All dead, all dead / Feelings). Queen I Box (1 song: Hagman). 24 songs? I'm sure I've forgotten some. How about we compare the number of unreleased songs released by Queen, not with Elton John, but The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Whitesnake or Aerosmith? We can also compare the number of concerts released with these bands. I think what you can do is download the Queen I box set from somewhere, and then you can complain about how bad the release is and compare it to Elton John or Bod Dylan, if that's to your liking. 3 tracks for 4664 plus Q+PR.
