There's an encoding error at about 0:52 as Brian leaves the screen after getting out of the car, it's then quickly covered up with a big black "can't be bothered to re-encode" circle.

The beginning was fine, but the moment Freddie's picture came around, I was horrified. It looks completely unhuman and quite unlike Freddie, his mouth even glitches a bit. For someone that was ""specializing"" in AI, this looks horrendous. EDIT: Finally got the picture. This summarizes the whole video for those who haven't watched it.
Well, maybe the last 30 seconds or so, but not the whole of it. That 'psychedelic' bit is quite freaky, and Brian looks more like Jimmy Page to me.

The most embarrassing IMHO is not the usage of AI but the fact that in this day and age you can actually get decent results using it, if you just put effort into it. But they just half-assed it, did they really think ppl will be okay with the end result like this? Somebody actually approved that crap, can you imagine those meetings? %)

Somebody actually improved that crap, can you imagine those meetings? %) I work in the creative field, and it’s always amusing to me when I see something poorly designed or executed, because there are layers and layers and layers of people who are involved in something like this. This wasn’t just a case of someone on a computer dicking around for an hour or so and shooting over this effort to Brian and Roger for them to approve it; there were other concepts that were proposed but rejected; there were additional designs to the eventually approved concept that were rejected or tweaked or changed completely; there was probably an account manager and a project manager who had to deal with QPL and oversee the project to make sure it stayed on track and within budget; and there were multiple meetings and presentations to fine-tune this, all before it even got to QPL! Once it did, they undoubtedly had further revisions and tweaks to be made; after it was finally approved by QPL, I’m sure Brian and Roger finally gave their okay. It’s just astonishing that every person at every step looked at this and said, “Yup, that looks great!”

This new video is genuinely the most embarrassing, frustrating, depressing thing I've EVER seen QPL do. Yes we always shit on QPL for using autotune and what not, but what in gods name is this video? As someone mentioned, it literally has encoding issues that are blocked out by a void circle. This hurts my soul with how AWFUL this damn video is.
How in the hell did Freddie's estate approve of this?

Because quality does not "matter", and this video will likely marginally increase sales $$$$$ The overall quality of the remaster audio is "pleasant" listening for an "average" person, and the 2 CD set is still worth buying. However, the "fluff" in the box set makes it an overpriced rip-off.

This wasn’t just a case of someone on a computer dicking around for an hour or so... That long?! To be fair, AI takes a long time if you're processing like a 4 minute long video. Especially at lets say 1080p+. It's evident they used like some shitty MacOS to process this (just like what they used for Montreal 81's film restorations).

This wasn’t just a case of someone on a computer dicking around for an hour or so... That long?! I was just going by what I do, which is to spend 55 minutes despairing on how my career has turned out and why oh god why am I doing this, certainly I could get a job as a ranger at a national park or be tollbooth collector so I don’t have to interact with people, and then 5 minutes of hurriedly throwing something together in hopes that it’ll look at least a quarter decent.

I would prefer they had approach some artists like they did in MIH films, at least some videos were really good. I recall those films being widely ridiculed at the time, so clearly there's no.pleasing everyone... Watching them on youtube as I read and type this. Those videos piss all over most of the shite put out by Queen over the past decade or so.

This loos like the mess I leave in the toilet the morning after a big night out topped off with a dodgy vindaloo curry before bed.

Even I admit the video for The Night Comes Down is shit. There's absolutely no defending it. Brian said in a video on Instagram before 2pm (before it was published) that it was finished last night and yeah, I think it tells! I had that in my mind before I watched it but it's so much worse than I expected.
Just makes you wonder if TNCD was the intended single, or whether they were going to use another song? I assumed Doing All Right might've been the more obvious choice...

Ok, so a few comments:
Looks like a great overall package. Not a fan of the autotune on the vocals, but whatever, it was expected.
Live tracks from 1970? Incredible. Holy grail level stuff, but I can't help but imagine it will be super doctored, they'll probably AI isolate Freddie's vocals and autotune them as well. Nonetheless, we will be hearing tracks from 1970, and one of them is Jesus. Pretty exciting stuff.
Live tracks from San Diego 1976? Now that's just unbelievable at this point. That show is always been on my radar. Not only is it the last night of the US tour but it was one of the few arena shows they were doing on that US tour. And they couldn't have chosen two better tracks. Doing All Right was at it's best on that tour and an official release of Hangman has finally come to fruition. Would have also liked to see See What a Fool I've Been from that gig thrown in there, but maybe we'll see that on the Queen II box set, who knows.
Overall it looks like a very good release.

After a few listens of TNCD - the new remix has help elevate my perception of it. It's never really been a track I've spent much time with, but after listening to the remix, I could see the potential of being a single after all. I'm quite impressed and not too bothered with the auto tune. It excites me for the rest of the remixed tracks.

My 2 Cents worth: Am happy that Mad The Swine has been put back in on all versions Same. I am also curious to hear if the segue between GKR and MTS will be as how we always thought it would be. However, since it will be a remix, it could be different now ie a true standalone version/no cross fading at all. And that I think is a pity: not having a true standalone version of the original mix of MTS on this set. Assuming there is such a version and the 1991 version indeed had "I've" edited out at the beginning.

I would say pay decent money to an animator, or forget a music video and just animate the lyrics, basic, cheap and gives something for music channels to show. What music channels are going to play a 50 year old album track video, HOWEVER good it is or isn't? The Beatles' I'm Only Sleeping's music video last year was so good that it got a grammy. That definitely got aired a lot, and was never a single in the time of The Beatles' activity.

The video didn’t cause me the same trauma it caused others, however, it’s a bit of a wasted opportunity. There are some seriously talented people out there who could have done something quite special with this. The psychedelic ending would be fine if it had been done well but it really wasn’t sadly. Negativity aside I still think it’s an exciting release with lots to look forward to

"The Night Comes Down" video will probably get more views now when word gets around how crap it is , people will want to see it if its as bad as fans are saying. Mind you Queen have in their time made some shocking videos- [We Are The Champions] ,[Calling All Girls] , [Body Language] , and maybe worst of all [It's A Hard Life] ,where Brian ,Roger & John look horrified !

The video is a video for the sake of a video. I didn't expect much and I didn't get much. I do feel a bit like Bob Balaban's character from A Mighty Wind when I say that I found it weird to put actual video next to "fake" video. Surely there is enough video from the time that they didn't need to try to animate photos. I thought one of Freddie's emergences from the psychovoid made him look like Paul McCartney. As for why TNCD was chosen instead of GKR, well, Brian didn't write that one. Looking at the lyric sheet posted with the pre-order, I'm very curious if MTS starts with an "I've". On this pic, at the bottom where it's just cut off, it doesn't look like there's much room for the word. Time will tell!

I think that particular image is meant to depict John by his birth sign of Leo The Lion - something that Freddie himself adopted for the crest logo.

First of all, nice call-out to A Mighty Wind – it’s not only my favorite Christopher Guest movie, but probably my favorite movie in general. Secondly, I’ve always thought that about Mad the Swine, that there just wasn’t an “I’ve”, and the lyric sheet seems to corroborate that.
