They are still an active touring band. We will get the goods when they are retired, so they can sit back and milk it. If you are not a fan of the QAL thing, these are hard times. Wonder if we will still get the Miracle thing.

Got to admit, I find it understandable that Brian and Roger are concentrating on the present day, rather than past history. When you think about it, they've already been there done it and got the t-shirts. It's only us that are clamoring for the last dregs of whatever might be left in the barrel, and I don't think it's unreasonable that they wouldn't particularly want to start going back over old ground in order to make a Made In Heaven II, or even to rehash a load of old demos for a Miracle Box Set.
It wouldn't be too hard to release some more old live material, though, and we know they have lots of unreleased stuff that would just need mixing properly and they might not need to be too involved with that.
Given, though, that Queen and Adam Lambert have been touring for a number of years, and would have been playing shows this year, a live product from the here and now would be perfectly commercially viable, and even if die-hard Freddie fans refused to even look at it, I think there would be enough Adam Lambert fans that would buy it it.

I have absolutely no problem with a Q+AL live release. It would be in really bad taste though to release this as the "50th anniversary of Queen" release. I don't think they're that stupid. I'm not sure though 😂

I'm not sure though 😂 My sentiment exactly. I understand releasing a live album, as they’ve been playing for almost a decade....but for the 50 anniversary? Nah. That doesn’t make sense. I thought they were incredible live, but it’s a different band essentially.

I was responding to the statement that QAL live releases is "ad nauseam". Using your example, band B is ad nauseam. But I wouldn't say that to Queen cause I love them a lot! And us QAL fan-beggars can't be choosers unlike fans of band B. We'll probably only have one-fifth of Band B's release and we'll have to like it because there's nothing else! I was never asking you to agree or accept a QAL Live release instead of an of Queen release, I was just addressing that it's weird to say a QAL Live release is ad nauseam considering there's barely any content at all. not at all. it was me who used the "ad nauseum" so, i'll respond: the one thing that Queen do "ad nauseum" is live albums: CD/Vinyl/Tape ■ 1979 - Live Killers ■ 1986 - Live Magic ■ 1992 - Live At Wembley ■ 2004 - On Fire At The Bowl ■ 2005 - Return of The Champions ■ 2007 - Rock Montreal ■ 2009 - Live In Ukraine ■ 2012 - Hungarian Rhapsody ■ 2014 - Live At The Rainbow ■ 2015 - A Night At The OdeonVHS/DVD ■ 1983 - Live In Japan ■ 1984 - We Will Rock You ■ 1985 - Live In Rio ■ 1987 - Live In Budapest ■ 1989 - Rare Live ■ 1990 - Queen At Wembley ■ 1992 - Live At The Rainbow ■ 1992 - We Are the Champions: Final Live in Japan ■ 1992 - The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert ■ 2004 - Queen on Fire - Live at the Bowl ■ 2004 - Live Aid ■ 2005 - Return of the Champions ■ 2006 - Super Live in Japan (Queen + Paul Rodgers) ■ 2007 - Queen Rock Montreal ■ 2012 - Hungarian Rhapsody - Live In Budapest ■ 2014 - Live At The Rainbow ■ 2015 - A Night At The Odeonand - when all is said and done - they're just more "greatest Hits" type money-spinners - compilations of old songs on repeat-play. yes the QAL fans may want a Live recording to mark this era - after all, Queen + PR got one. But that isn't my point is it? My point is, that (as a Queen fan of 46 years) - even if Freddie hadn't died, I wouldn't want to hear another live LP - regardless of who is in front of the mic, be it Freddie, Paul, Adam, Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick or Titch. personally, i want to hear new stuff - either brand new studio recordings, or reworked previously unheard old tracks. when you look at the above list - my "live ad nauseum" is more than justified. Queen have released as many live albums as studio recordings. Grateful Dead aside, surely that's unheard of?

There's also the Japan only Queen+Adam Lambert Live in Japan Summer Sonic 2014, briefly mentioned before on this thread: www.amazon.com/Queen-Lambert-Japan-Summer-Blu-ray/dp/B06XKHZ2QDI am a happy owner of a copy and I wonder what is all the fuss about this new release. I know it will be a worldwide release and is supposed to be a better quality product, but it's not like they never released a live video. Cheers, Ogre-

Remember that "big project" they were working on? yeah- That must be something else. According to Roger the idea of the Live Album is fairly new and has to do with the very positive resonance of that Tour Watch Party last weekend. Literally hundreds of fans have asked for a live DVDin the comment section. I’ve got nothing against a Q&AL live album to reflect their time together, but literally hundreds of fans have also been screaming for a lot of releases like Hyde Park Earls Court, Hammersmith 79 and an anthology set(s) for years now so that’s no justification, and a bit galling if they’ve jumped straight away for a Q&AL album that really adds nothing to the legacy of the original line up, simply based on a few positive comments.

Is there a placeholder for The Miracle box set?
Hopefully a QAL live album won't "cancel" the box set release. Jim Beach has been on record many years ago as to not wanting to "flood the market".

Well Queen released Live At The Rainbow '74 on 8 September 2014 and on 10 November 2014 they released Queen Forever. If it's true about the predicted release dates (end of September for Q+AL and 26 November for The Miracle) then it's pretty much the same gap as the 2014 releases. If it's true about the Q+AL album then news of it should be imminent in my opinion.

I guess it is possible QPL to have two x-mas releases in the same year.

don't think that is that. The date on the other webpage is 25th of september, the price is around 25 euros, and also the label is Hollywood Records. Apart than the fact that this 7 inch single will be only available on QOL store... but, let's wait and see...

I was thinking before, is the reason why they stopped the lockumentary series because they are going to include it as an extra on a DVD/Blu-ray release?

Yep, I thought that was kind of obvious when they had this thing streamed on YouTube, that it would become an actual live album/video release. For the first time in a while, the cover art doesn't look quite as lazy as in the previous four or five Queen live albums - the photo used for the cover art, at least, is a less obvious choice. I think I'm actually gonna buy this thing, if only because it's a souvenir from a period of time when I actually got to see what's left of Queen live on stage for probably the only time I've ever had the chance and while I could still bother to do so.

I do actually find the cover art pretty bad, even worse than A Night At The Odeon in my opinion. The setlist is quite bland too, almost every single performance can be easily found on Youtube, I was hoping for at least some never-heard-before stuff, but this is just another proof for QLP’s obsession with releasing stuff we already know. I’ll probably give it a listen only if they put it on Apple Music. Still hoping for a “raw soundboard collection” kind of thing.

That is a big disappointment, well.. shouldn't of expected a 70s or 80s show.. (I am also kind of salty they didn't include a single song from my country but that's another story)

Finally a QAL album!
I just ordered a bundle. The Picture Vinyl looks good as well.
Just thinking about it: They have played 218 shows in 42 countries in front of more than 3.5 million people. This is their first official (worldwide) release. Why have they waited that long? Puzzling.

The purists are powerful and feared (so rejoice if you're part of that). And looking at this pandemic and how much they lost/may lose, it's a perfect opportunity. Also ordering!

Going by the links that were in the email, the vinyl was $95 AUD, plus postage to New Zealand, would be damn expensive. Or, I could order the picture disk from the UK, including postage, and it's cheaper. So I did that.
