Very interesting set list — more Mercury tracks than May tracks for the first time in a while, only one Taylor track, and no ‘39 or I’m In Love With My Car. I probably would’ve had a few more rarities in there, but glad that Love Kills (the “balled”?!) made it on there. Isn’t Two Fux a Q+AL track? (Also, would’ve loved to have heard either It’s Late or Spread Your Wings, but alas...)
Would’ve loved to have seen what they do in the studio but I can’t see that happening, ever. I think they still suffer PTSD from The Cosmos Rocks, which was mentioned above as why it took so long for Q+AL to release this. While I’m not a fan per se, I do think they should’ve released something sooner. Maybe a more positive reception (and earlier) would’ve given them more confidence to have done something in the studio together. People clearly enjoy Q+AL, especially America.

Rather frustratingly it seems to be pretty much the same thing they streamed on YouTube recently. The nice rarer live stuff such as ‘It’s Late’, ’Spread Your Wings’, ‘Save Me’, ‘Play The Game’, ‘Get Down, Make Love’ etc...all overlooked.

And I agree that more rarities would be great like the mentioned Save Me, Get Down Make Love, Play the Game etc. One Vision even, since they used it in the teaser video!

Anybody else noticed that the colour and the typo looks similar to Van Halens Live Right here Right now?
Quite a pitty, that I want it all is not included.

I don't think it's bad at all but I would've liked to see I Want It All on there as it's one of the staples of the show.
But overall it's quite a nice release I think. For those who haven't seen Q+AL before it's a nice summary of what to expect.

A typically lazy release, cobbled together from stuff that's already been made available. Can't believe they didn't include I Want It All but it probably didn't fit on the CD. I'll buy it, but I would have rather had a complete concert over a double CD.

Most of these tracks even in excellent quality can be found on YT. Even Love Kills or IWBTLY....
Does this release mean that the Miracle Box has been postponed ?

Really like to Queen and Adam liveq concerts, I think this release propose is to keep the public interest in the QAL, since the forthcoming tour has been postponed. If they wanted a beautiful souvenir from their touring days, they could release a good collection of videos, with interviews, sound checks etc and not album.
These kind of album releases only postpone or cancel original Queen releases, as it has been happened in 2005... Thus it is for AL fans and not worth buying as live album.

I've seen Q+AL live twice and enjoyed both shows, mainly because I got to see Brian & Roger. However, I'll probably give this a quick listen on Spotify when it comes out but won't listen to it much. I'd rather listen to the Freddie era live shows.

Awful artwork: check. Lazy selections: check.
Never change, Queen Productions. No doubt it will be overdubbed to death, too.

Apparently, Queen Productions doesn't limit bland, dull and predictable to Queen-releases, Q+AL gets the same treatment. I was never going to buy this in the first place, but I can totally imagine that those who do like Q+AL would find this...thing...very disappointing. The artwork is 'up to the usual standards' of the past two decades, so pretty bad IMHO. If they're going to do this Q+AL thing, I would at least like them to do it well...
I just hope this let-down doesn't get in the way of a Queen 50th anniversary release. That would be utterly distasteful.

I’m sorry but I for one am happy that this release is not that great at all. Again, yes I’m happy that Bri and Rog are still doing what they’re doing but it’s just something about Adam as a singer that I HATE! But of course I see the thousands of “Queen Fans” saying, and I quote, “Adam Lambert, strong voice, young man and spiritual Freddie 's son. We have the second life of QUEEN, Remember first life with Freddie forever!” “ HELL YES!! Thank you!! I enjoyed the Paul Rogers tour but Adam knocks it out of the park. I bet Freddie would have loved to see you guys keep touring.🤗🤗💞💞💞” “ this is amazing! incredible! Thank you Adam for being part of this! YOU are awesome and a kind person! I think this album will be amazing too! Love you three! 💗💗🇧🇷“ “ I am beyond thrilled. Saw them last year in Philly and it was the best concert I’ve ever been to. Love Adam !”
Of course most of these comments come from elderly women who have nothing else better to do in life.
Honestly if ‘The Miracle’ Boxset gets pushed back because of this shit.. I’ll have all lost hope for OG Queen material!

Wouldn’t have hurt to have a Ltd edition collectors version with a second cd (or even just as download) featuring all the other ‘missing’ tracks they’ve played; Stone Cold Crazy, Keep Yourself Alive, Save Me, Play The Game, Get Down, Make Love, Dragon Attack, Spread Your Wings, It’s Late, One Vision, etc....there’s quite a list!

For those of us interested in Queen(with Freddie) rather than Q+AL then the latest announcement of a Q+AL live cd/dvd is obviously a grave disappointment.
I don't see it as any kind of artistic enterprise. It's clearly a money grab because of the cash they're losing on the cancelled tour with no guarantee that it will happen next year. (Maybe a nice touch would be a slice of the royalties to all the production staff who now have huge holes in their calendars with little hope of any other production work to fill in their empty schedules.)
As someone pointed out, after the car crash that was The Cosmos Rocks it is unlikely that they will try to create a new studio album. I believe they are now creatively barren and so have two options.
Option 1 is to continue on the world karaoke circuit with their tribute act currently starring the embarrassingly naff singing goat (yes he has range but so do howler monkeys).
Option 2 is to listen to what Queen(wF) fans want and stop being so bloody precious with what's in the vaults. No ivory tower is tall enough to stop the human nature reflex of wanting to know what people are saying about you. So, judging by Roger's occasional grumpy outbursts, they either dip into the forums or are given a good briefing about whatâs being said and what fans want.
However there is an Option 3 and thatâs a combination of the above which some may argue is what they are doing. Option 1 has clearly been successfully implemented over the past few years and is appreciated by those who like that sort of thing. But Option 2 has been very badly handled.
My understanding is that the archivist (Iâll not s@#&&*£ as Iâm sure he is very good at sticking on labels, putting on shelves and entering on a spreadsheet) and some other unknowns that lurk at QPL come up with ideas and present them to Brian and Roger. And this is where it falls down.
They need a team of hardcore Queen(wF) fans that can be given access to what they have in the vaults and can then give proper advice on what would be suitable and much appreciated releases for the Queen(wF) fans. e.g. Earlâs Court even if the sound and picture arenât perfect. A Jazz/Crazy DVD with the best they have. etc.
If Brian is such a perfectionist that, at this late stage in his and a lot of the original fans lives, he would deny them thrilling memories and new discoveries of old treasures due to his fragile ego then he is less of a man than we once thought. Donât forget it also takes fans to make a successful band and we were on the journey too.
What we do get are morsels padded out with stuff we already have that we are expected to pay for again and again in different packaging with that one or two extra tracks or ridiculous Frankenstein mixes put together in recent years.
I doubt even Jim Beach would argue that such releases wouldnât make money. In the grand scheme of things the success of Q+AL would easily cover it and create some goodwill. QPL is as we all know an incredibly profitable company. What it would do is give something back. Give something back to those now in the shadows who, back in the day, did the heavy lifting, going to numerous shows in one tour and buying every single and every album on release day to make sure Queen hit the charts as high as possible.
Time is short Queen. Do the decent thing.

Time is short Queen. Do the decent thing. While I agree with you in principle and I certainly appreciate your obvious dedication to the band, I'm afraid it's just not going to happen. Brian and Roger are two old men in their 70s – one of whom had a sheer heart attack earlier this year, and not the one who wrote the song – and I'm sure they were thinking this was gonna be their year, to just continue riding that success that Paul Rodgers couldn't give them (or, if we're being honest in terms of America, that Freddie could only give them in death more than a decade after their biggest US hit single ever) with somebody that has obviously resonated more positively with the rock'n'roll public. Instead, this *gestures wildly* has all happened, and their plans are completely scuppered. Will they even be able to tour again? Will rock concerts even be a thing in four months' time? Will they even want to tour again? Given all that 2020 has brought us, and the fact that Brian and Roger clearly have to be dragged kicking and screaming into releasing something of worth from the archives, I just don't see these two horses changing course midstream this late in their game. Fans have cried out for decades for more archival releases, and they're just not gonna happen – or if they do they're going to happen on Brian's and Roger's terms. By all means: shout, scream, kick up dust, let them know how much you (the royal you) want and that you want it all and you want it now. It may work! But it probably won't, because Brian and Roger and Jim Beach are businessmen, and they know that for every The Miracle box set the diehards will buy, they can recoup those losses and make profit with something like Q+AL's Live Around the World*. Trust me, I want Queen to open up their archives in a way like Neil Young has been doing so, or have archival box sets like Jethro Tull's Steven Wilson remixes (those are seriously the benchmark for archival releases). But it's just not going to happen as long as Brian and Roger are around – they're going to keep doing things their way, because it's the only way they know how. *Is it just me or is this the most bland live album title they've had yet? Not that titles like "Queen On Fire: Live At the Bowl" or "Queen Rock Montreal" are any better, of course...

I think people are making too big of a deal about being disappointed with this release. Yes I agree that the set-list could have been more interesting and it's disappointing that they don't have more rare tracks like some of the News of The World tracks. But it's still nice to have some kind of release of Q+AL and this is also not taking place of the regular Queen release for this year, according to the rumors I last read The Miracle box set will probably get a press release from some time in September. That was the speculation on that thread at least, so in my mind at least we have something else as well.

I‘m not disappointed by the setlist. It was clear it would look like the Tour Watch Party a couple of months ago.
Big surprise for me is the opening song ‘Tear it up‘. I would never have thought this one would make the cut, although I did really like it as opener 2018. Including the Drum Battle and especially the Guitar Solo in the DVD is wonderful. That was wonderful to watch Brian playing in heaven among his stars with all the lasers around him. I‘m really looking forward for these visuals.
The setlist of‘Live around the World‘ : DVD / Blu-Ray 1 Tear It Up (O2 Arena, London, UK, 2018) 2 Now I'm Here (Summer Sonic, Tokyo, Japan, 2014) 3 Another One Bites The Dust (Summer Sonic, Tokyo, Japan, 2014) 4 Fat Bottomed Girls (American Airlines Center, Dallas, USA, 2019) 5 Don't Stop Me Now (Rock In Rio, Lisbon, Portugal, 2016) 6 I Want To Break Free (Rock In Rio, Lisbon, Portugal, 2016) 7 Somebody to Love (Isle of Wight Festival, UK, 2016) 8 Love Kills - The Ballad (iHeart Radio Theater, Los Angeles, USA, 2014) 9 I Was Born To Love You (Summer Sonic, Tokyo, Japan, 2014) 10 Drum Battle (Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney, Australia, 2014) - on DVD/BluRay only! 11 Under Pressure (Global Citizen Festival, New York, USA, 2019) 12 Who Wants To Live Forever (Isle of Wight Festival, UK, 2016) 13 Guitar Solo - Last Horizon (O2 Arena, London, UK, 2018) -on DVD/BluRay only! 14 The Show Must Go On (O2 Arena, London, UK, 2018) 15 Love Of My Life (O2 Arena, London, UK, 2018)
16 Bohemian Rhapsody (Fire Fight Australia, Sydney, Australia, 2020) 17 Radio Ga Ga (Fire Fight Australia, Sydney, Australia, 2020) 18 Ay-Ohs (Fire Fight Australia, Sydney, Australia, 2020) 19 Hammer To Fall (Fire Fight Australia, Sydney, Australia, 2020) 20 Crazy Little Thing Called Love (Fire Fight Australia, Sydney, Australia, 2020) 21 We Will Rock You (Fire Fight Australia, Sydney, Australia, 2020) 22 We Are The Champions (Fire Fight Australia, Sydney, Australia, 2020)

I don't really care about this at all, it's not aimed at me.
I am a little surprised, though, that they STILL insist on doing live compilations. The lesson of Live Killers was only 40 years ago, I guess.

Tons of fans have been asking for archive box sets for years too, but that hasn’t got us anywhere!! True. But this time it worked. I mean, it wasn’t much work to put these in high quality existing videos together and make an album out of it, right? Most of it has been on their YT channel for years, until they pulled it a couple of months ago. I‘ve always heard people ask for a DVD at the merch stands in front of the venues. It was quite ridiculous that there had been nothing at all.

That's not actually a bad price. It's listed on HMV at £29.99 for the CD + Bluray and £26.42 for the same on Amazon UK. The price could come down on Amazon but I've placed my order with the QOL Store.

I actually really like the artwork. A simple backstage picture. Capturing the live setting before they enter the stage and their bond as a band in a very simple, but beautiful way.

I've always loved their "band walking" photo from every show, sometimes with sweet caption, sometimes goofing around if Adam records it, so personally I connect with it.

Seems to me that they chose that picture very thoughtfully, but non-QAL fans can’t grab that or connect with it.
