These are the sales up to yesterday, missing many digital, streaming platforms. Now iTunes is Queen at 1 and K Pop quartet at 2 rising.
Don't expect much, streaming is huge by the K Pop group, but what do I know. Hope for Queen and Adam 1
As for OCC mid week charts, they haven't refresh their page, since today at midnight the chart sales will end. However they stated that at their news:
Yesterday’s Official Chart sales flash saw the group trailing Queen + Adam Lambert’s Live Around The World by 8,000 chart sales, the gap has since narrowed overnight to 5,300. With more sales and streaming data expected to arrive in tonight and the K-pop quartet advancing strongly on both fronts, the late challenge means this week’s Official Albums Chart race will go down to the wire.

I'm not very confident Queen are going to do it now. The fact that Blackpink got 2,700 in just about eight hours and when Official Charts announced it at 11am this morning means it would've picked up more interest from fans. It's going to be their steaming figures that make the difference. I hate this K-pop music. What makes it so popular and successful?

Outside of the chart race I finally got around to watching the Blu-ray.
I have two (slightly drunk) observations.
1) I live not far from Ventnor in the Isle of Wight. I was at the festival when they played. Can’t believe Adam missed the opportunity to sing the version of WWTLF that we have been singing for years...Who Wants To Live In Ventnor?*
2) when LOML was playing I got a proper Inception vibe... I was at that show, and also the show that Freddie was singing from....**
* I know the significance of why he didn’t... ** my head hurts just thinking about this
Anyway - back to wondering what I’m earth K Pop is....

The Kpop group just made it to #1 on iTunes where the QAL album had been sitting, right just before the cut-off time. It's only iTunes tho and hopefully everything else can still keep it at #1 for this week.
As per the website: The Official Albums Chart will be announced tomorrow from 4pm on BBC Radio 1’s Official Chart with Scott Mills, and the full Top 100 will be published here on OfficialCharts.com from 5:45pm.

How long were Q+AL number one for on iTunes? Blackpink didn't rise until very late into the week. If it had been earlier I'm pretty sure Q+AL will be number two.

Btw, what do you guys think of the picture discs? I’ve just received my two copies, numbered 498 and 501. I’m planning to sell the last one, but it’s truly magnificantly designed!

The thing is 200 streams counts as one album purchase so if Q+AL have sold another 3,000 copies since Monday then that means they would have sold roughly 17,000. To win Blackpink will have needed another 11,000 copies since Monday or 2,200,000 streams which I've got a horrible feeling isn't impossible. But Q+AL may have sold more than 3,000 since Monday it's only a guess.

I don't remember precisely but it was less than an hour to the deadline when Blackpink got their #1 on iTunes, iirc. But also, at the deadline, we got 2 spots in the top 10 iTunes, the other one being the £4.99 purchase I previously posted which was only the Firefight Australia released separately to boost sales. They should count as one title so I hope it helped. A little over 2 hours before we find out I think, so fingers crossed

Update: from Adam's Instagram, the album is #1 in the UK and Australia 🙏
The official announcement isn't out yet tho. Maybe they told them early?

For me a number one album these days isn't probably as special as it used to be when it was based on LP sales rather than streaming, iTunes etc. Maybe I've just become an old fucker.

I disagree with you, I don't think streaming albums has as much difference as it does on singles. I just don't understand how you are meant to have a hit single these days as many don't even chart now. (P.S. Live Around The World didn't even appear in the Top 100 streaming chart.)

Sadly it's a double edged sword, now that the new stuff is a hit there's even less need for Brian & Roger to focus on the old releases. You can't blame them, what they are currently doing is clearly working for them.

Units sold for Top 3 in the UK album charts below. It doesn't seem as close as it was predicted!
1. Queen & Adam Lambert - Live Around The World (25,275) 2. Blackpink - The Album (19,310) 3. Oasis - (What's The Story) Morning Glory (14,527)

UK Total Units: 25,275 Physical: 22,490 Downloads: 2,410 Streams: 375
Oasis sales were mostly vinyl. Since their album has reissued on silver color vinyl (I think).

I'm really happy for their #1 in the UK, but it doesn't look like it charted well in the USA. I'm not surprised, but that would have been nice too.

Did anyone else notice that it is being released on EMI? Not Island or Virgin EMI Records on which all their releases since 2011 were.
BTW, another thing, at the end of the movie on my bluray it shows an FBI Warning and the Hollywood Records logo, despite it being a European EMI release...

No more than Live Killers, probably. And besides, Brian claims there aren't any -- though I believe one or two have been suspected.
