Must admit, given the amount of time I now have to actually listen to music I have found myself exploring other genres. I listened to Queen II the other day from beginning to end but I do that quite often anyway (usually in the work van) and The Works which is a blast regardless of its meagre content. I am finding Brians guitar things he is doing on his youtube channel quite entertaining too.

I've not listened to much Queen, I've been on more of a a Pink Floyd / Roger Waters phase recently, unless i'm in my car, then it's the best of Meat Loaf because the CD is stuck.

It's okay, it's not like it's daily punishment anymore, I'm only in it once a week.

^ nowt wrong wi the 'Loaf Moog lol. Just wouldn't like it for all eternity, though Has my consumption of Queen been affected? Yes, but in a positive way! I've recently gotten my turntable and amp working again, so I've been listening to a number of the albums on vinyl - namely Queen II, ANATO, NOTW and Innuendo. I've also given some of the Freddie solo albums a few spins. Bob also played a number of acoustic live shows online recently, one of which was "Queen night". It was awesome throughout, but he played a really neat version of "She Makes Me" which completely sparked my interest in a song I always found to be drab. Now I'm addicted to SHA, when previously it was just "meh" for me. I know that doesn't conform with popular opinion, but I guess I'm seeing the light.

I am taking time to enjoy the extraordinary CMI remasters, one by one. It’s like rediscovering Queen, can’t believe my ears. Also.. I’m a huge Meat Loaf / Jim Steinman fan

Since the lockdown I finally have the time to play my guitars and learn the keyboard, and catch up with other bands I've been meaning to listen. As for anything Queen-related, well I'm learning to remix one of the multitracks. It's a little on the rough and loud side of things, but I'll try to improve on that. Have you checked out Roger's drumming videos as well?

Trying to listen to as much of the boys as possible. Innuendo has been played back to front 3 times this week!

Leroy Brown blows my mind, the amount of work that went into that song is utterly incredible, RTB needs a shout out here for putting that stuff together.

It hasn't changed how much Queen I listen too. It has however given me more time to go through my vinyl and CD collections and pull out all sorts of stuff I haven't listened to in years.

I love Bring Back That Leroy Brown, that bassline especially. That was the most fun to play bassline I've played. Never knew Bob did a couple of online shows. Where can I see 'em? Never seen him perform before.

Noooooooooooo It's not that. You'd think when you get to a point where your voice is totally fucked to the point where even autotune and having 3 or 4 ladies sing over you can't save it you'd know it was time stop. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if he had parkinsons, or Multiple sclerosis or something that affected his voice.
It's "The very best" from 1998, So some dodgy covers (Like Boyzones No Matter What droning on and on and on) but mostly stuff from the 70's. As for the live "extra bonus" tracks.....Never before have i wished an artist would mime so badly.

Locked with an almost 2-year old child doesn’t give me a break and I can hardly listen to any music these days, nor even play my guitar sadly, but at least I try watching Brian’s mini-concertos, which I find very enjoyable. Just watched his Get Back cover with Gary Barlow and thought that was great!

SACDs have a much higher bitrate compared to standard CDs, so it's gonna be hi-res. Depending on the SACD, you'll also have an option between standard stereo or 5.1 surround mix.

Apart from the technical info i must say yes... more dynamic, more depth. Innuendo is very powerful. I prever vinyl but SACD give me almost the same feeling of the vinyl without the clicks and pops...

I know about the general difference between SACDs and Redbook CDs. My question was more about the Queen catalogue, which don't have the 5.1 mix. I've heard the Queen SACDs sound too compressed, and aren't particularly popular with audiophiles, so when I read that someone is listening to them, I'd like to hear their perspective on why they're playing them. I've been mulling over buying a SACD player, but can't quite commit yet, especially because I've recently been buying MFSL, cp32 etc., which are considered to be better choices. Not sure how I'm coming across in this post, so I'll clarify that I'm just trying to find the best digital versions of Queen albums, so would like to know more about SACDs.

Many people think the 2011 remaster was a big improvement over the 1991 release, so I'm wondering if you're hearing the difference between the masterings (2011 vs. 1991) or the format (SACD vs. CD).

Well i'm not an audiophile but i just trust of my ears and, to me, SACD sound better than CD. We talking about the 2011 Remaster, not properly the state of art of the remaster... 2011 Remaster SACD are better than the relative CD.
The master is the same but it change the mastering technique because every phisical support had a proper mastering.
Vinyl is another story... luckly.

Yes i've got all the 2011 Remaster in CD, SACD and Vinyl (The Studio Collection with all the coloured vinyl, and The Vinyl Collection came out in Italy) About Innuendo well... my charts is 1) Vinyl 2) SACD 3) CD but generally the CD of Innuendo sounds good. The cd of Opera, for example, is horrible compared to the previous release.
