I have received an answer to my question if MM has recorded Queen on the NOTW tour. He has recorded Queen at the Long Beach Arena on December 20th 1977. Now I feel somehow stupid I haven't asked about 1978 and 1980....

In this day and age of everything being on the internet, the beauty of the JEMS series is that it's one of the few things in life where it can still be about the joy of delayed pleasure, and even not knowing what said pleasure is. There's a reason why they're rolling out tapes once per week until further notice without providing a list.
I'll delete this thread if that's their wish. Their tapes, their call.
That said - I need to state the obvious:
It's entirely possible that this may be the greatest Queen audience tape ever. At least on par with Boston 76.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: A News of the World Mike Millard tape is the holy grail of Queen recordings. Any of those last three nights taped by him would go down as one of the essentials, and luckily, it happens to be a totally uncirculated gig.

I don't see the people at JEMS as some crazy weirdos who think it's awesome to keep information to themselves. They make a relaxed and totally normal impression on me. If they didn't want this particular information to come out, I would have been either told or they wouldn't have answered at all.
I don't think the surprise is messed up because you still don't know when the show will be released. The fact that the show exists is extremely gratifying. In this knowledge there is no difference to the Led Zeppelin shows of many other shows, of which the existence is also known for decades. That doesn't diminish the anticipation a bit if you ask me.

I know they're not weirdos - I've spoken to them too. I know guys who've known them for decades. They are/were wonderful people.
I'm just considering the spirit the recordings are being offered in, and to me it seems implicit that they'd want to keep it all a surprise. It wouldn't hurt to ask them if it's OK to make the information public. Floyd and Zeppelin collectors did not announce anything beforehand, if that counts for anything - and you can bet your life they asked.

He might have recorded a couple of the Inglewood '78 and '80 shows. Maybe even all of them. But, maybe some of the recordings don't exist anymore. So, I'm guessing that one of the '78 shows and one or two of the '80 shows have a recording.

So you signed up on the forum just to make this post? As much as I want a Mike Millard tape to exist from these late-'77 shows, I feel like I have to call bullshit on this one

Plenty of people lurk on this forum and just enjoy reading threads and utilizing the downloads. That being said, we've already been through one Long Beach incident, so let's hope it's not round two. I highly doubt this is a troll.

Don't think he's referring to the JEMS guy, but rather the poster of this thread. Do we have evidence that he even asked them about the tape to begin with?

Hopefully he also taped the Jazz Inglewood shows Well there's a rumoured audience recording of one of the '78 Inglewood shows so it could possibly a Millard show...

This year seems very good for NOTW Tour shows, as both Long Beach(Mike Millard) and Fort Worth could come out this year. For the love of god, can we not talk about Fort Worth on the forum as of now? We are working on it but we don't want people to flood to the tapers DMs. Trust me, these things are sensitive. At the very least, edit your post and remove the tapers name for now.

Looks like Christmas might be alright after all. We've started the year with a Millard recording from '77 (Well, a month in on the new year) now we're ending the year with another Millard '77 tape!
