Around mid-2019, I got into solving Rubik's cubes. I own many of them (mainly budget cubes, because I'm not some 4-second 3x3 solver). I use the method CFOP (Cross, F2L or First 2 Layers, OLL or Orienting Last Layer, PLL or Permuting Last Layer) to solve 3x3. Although my 3x3 personal best is 8.11 seconds, I wouldn't call myself fast. That was just luck. Anyway, I've really got into 6x6, with my personal best on that being 2:46 (as of November 30, 2020). I was wondering if anyone else knew how to solve one of them (excluding the 1x1, because duh.) Here are my personal bests for all of the current World Cube Association (yes that's a thing) categories. My personal bests are nothing close to the world records (except the 2x2 one, which is only 0.5 away). 2x2: 0.99 (pure luck) 3x3: 8.11 (luck) 3x3 one-handed: 25.10 3x3 feet: that used to be a thing, but it was removed 3x3 blindfolded: N/A 3x3 multi-blindfolded (meaning that you solve more than one 3x3 blindfolded): uhhh no. 3x3 fewest moves (meaning you think of the least amount of moves you could do for a single solve): N/A 4x4: 40.44 4x4 blindfolded: N/A 5x5: 1:35.44 5x5 blindfolded: N/A 6x6: 2:43.05 7x7: 4:29.60 Megaminx (which is a dodecahedron): 1:26.85 Pyraminx (which is a triangular pyramid): 3.11 (i think) Skewb: 4.17 Square-1: 30.15 Clock (there are 2 sides, and 9 mini clocks on each side. you can stop some from moving, and in order to solve it, all the hands have to face up): 7.12 World Record videos: 2x2 record is currently held by Maciej Czapiewski: www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-rcPAsY5bY3x3 record is currently held by Yusheng Du: www.youtube.com/watch?v=SB3ut65SFUU3x3 one-handed record is currently held by Max Park: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvFtz4QAP5g3x3 feet record was held by Mohammed Aiman Koli: www.youtube.com/watch?v=heyAZOixSaE3x3 blindfolded record is currently held by Max Hilliard: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJew86mY3wY3x3 multi-blindfolded record is currently held by Graham Siggins: www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ1t4SBXdDs3x3 fewest moves record is currently held by Sebastiano Tronto: (no video) reconstruction: www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0yjjwxonEE4x4 record is currently held by Sebastian Weyer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLO7ZKwazk84x4 blindfolded record is currently held by Stanley Chapel: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGiFq_1I1c85x5 record is currently held by Max Park: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ov30nRWEQA5x5 blindfolded record is currently held by Stanley Chapel: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZa5mLwr8kw6x6 record is currently held by Max Park: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6i7oZMeWXzE7x7 record is currently held by Max Park: www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxYYteuDu08Megaminx record is currently held by Juan Pablo Huanqui: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Myp3UzHCiTIPyraminx record is currently held by Dominik Górny: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nU4tvsPZEISkewb record is currently held by Andrew Huang: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MI385bVIJQg (lovely quality) Square-1 record is currently held by Martin Egdal: www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4RBJurYwGQClock record is currently held by Suen Ming Chi (aka Martin Suen): www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLw4clbCTQU

The only occasion that I attempted to solve a Rubik Cube I had to be timed with a calendar... (And I still didn't solve it...)

I like using those online sites which if you can't solve one, you put in all the faces of a Rubik's cube and they will solve it and show you a step-by-step animation too. This is the one I use: rubiks-cube-solver.com/It's quite tricky to use the first couple of times but you can get used to it. It's certainly worth it!

I learnt a method when they first came out, and over the last couple of years transitioned to a hybrid of CFOP and that old method, effectively because learning 27 algorithms to do OLL and PLL isn't high enough on my to do list.
As a result, my best time is around 80 seconds, which is a lifetime in dedicated circles, but impressive enough for most random.
The development in this century of New mechanisms, new shapes, and additional orders (in the 80s there was 4x4 and 5x5, now you can get a 10x10 for a reasonable price and 30x30 for silly money) has rekindled my interest a bit - I think I can solve a 9x9 in about 3 hours, but it's not something I do often!
OP, are you familiar with (i think) Olivers Stickers? It's a French company that sells replacement stickers...one of which is a lenticular set that makes a 3x3 Cube almost impossible, because once it's been mixed you can't tell which side the sticker that changes from orange to green should be aimed at.

More rewarding solving it yourself though. I've tired using those methods you can use to solve a Rubik's cube but to no avail. I'm one of those people that am better at learning something if I know the answer and can work out what you do to get to that conclusion.

I don't remember the name, but I do know what you're talking about. I've seen some vids about some speedcubers trying those stickers out, and failing. I don't own those stickers though (it would be cool if I did though).

I restickered an old crappy mechanism with them.
It took hours to solve - it's so difficult. Haven't touched it since!

Update:
I got a Clock yesterday. It's very nice to turn and very fun to solve. My personal best as of December 10, 2020 is 23.12 seconds.
