I do not know this, because I'm American, and Queen's First EP was never officially released in the US, so I was wondering - was this ever released as a 12"?

Nope. 7" Single in 1977. Re-released on vinyl in 2009 for Record Store Day

It's a shame and a missed opportunity Not really. 12" singles were really in their infancy in 1977, and even then it was mostly coming from Disco wasn't it? I'd argue that the first Queen 12" single of any kind was probably the wwry/watc promo in late '77
