Show off! 😄 Actually I was looking at one of them, but I saw a couple of reviews on Amazon that said the camera wasn't as good as on the S10+. It was probably how they were using it. It won't be long before the S30 comes out, though.

I've got an S9+ and have had my eye on an S10+ as I prefer that camera layout to the square cluster, but I've got no real excuse to upgrade as I've only had the S9+ for about a year. I buy my phones outright, so I tend to get the last year's model when they become cheaper.

it's not Astrophotography, per se, but, the ISS and Starlink have been over the UK for the last few nights. Last night the ISS definitely flew over our house - i'm not exaggerating in the slightest. here's the co-ords for last night (from Worcester, UK - i don't live in Worcester) The ISS takes just over 1½ hrs to complete one journey around the earth. ISS TrackerDate ■ Tue May 19 Time ■ 10:52 PM Dura ■ 6 min Starting ■ 10° above WSW Max ■ 71° Ending ■ 10° above E and here's the next ISS passes for any spotters out there: Date ■ Wed May 20 Time ■ 10:04 PM Dura ■ 6 min Starting ■ 10° above WSW Max ■ 60° Ending ■ 11° above E Date ■ Wed May 20 Time ■ 11:41 PM Dura ■ 6 min Starting ■ 10° above WSW Max ■ 82° Ending ■ 15° above E it's going to be with us (at least) until end of May - so chances for photos? Starlink, on the other hand, is a little more difficult to predict - but easier to see - a long train of satellites (like looking at a pin in the sky). so far, the online trackers are correct 50% of the time. next UK visit for Starlink: Date ■ Sat May 23 Time ■ 04:38 AM Dura ■ 4 min Starting ■ 10° above S Max ■ 20° Ending ■ 10° above E Starlink Finder

Last night (Monday 20th July) was a good night for stargazing. 22:27 - ISS directly overhead in clear bright sky for 6 miniutes 23:15 - comet Neowise too 23:15 - a nice view of Capella. Here's my first attempt at imaging Neowise. it'll be around til early August for any stargazers out there. Peak is 22/23 July. At dusk it's Northwest sky, but by pre-dawn it's North East. Currently around 20deg above horizon, but by end of July will be West and 30deg. Camera: Canon 200D Lens: Samyang 14mm Settings: F/2.8, iso400, 20secs

Lovely photos. I was trying to spot Neowise but couldn't find it. And the recent weather in Poland doesn't help. I was able to make some photos of Jupiter two days ago but they are absolutely terrible. I must admit I am complete amateur when it comes to photography and I use a very standard digital camera. One of the areas I wish I had some knowledge and manual skill. Somehow I managed to make some satisfying photos of total lunar eclipse two years ago. My camera was Olympus VH-510. Not great by any means, but they mean a lot to me as it was my first experience with astrophotography and it's not often one can see total lunar eclipse:

Comet N e o w i s e - its start point is heading gradually west and finish point heading more northerly (UK positions). try to view in the starting position with binoculars, once you find it, then try for naked-eye viewing. I had to impovise and I put my camera on a small sand construction that I build on the street using the sand from construction site. I was using compact camera which I bought when I was a teenager. Thank you very much for your help. It's really helpful and clear. I'll try again to find Neowise and ISS. I can't do anything else with Jupiter or Saturn, although Jupiter looks impressive, even looking with naked eye. It's the brightest point on the sky so it is a piece of cake to find.

It's the brightest point on the sky so it is a piece of cake to find. i'm only learning myself. i managed to get some decent solar/lunar images with a Fuji Finepix S8650 (bridge). alas, it would never do much beyond that. i then made the (costly) jump to a DSLR (Canon 1300d) - it was nice, but it wasn't til i replaced it with the 200d that i felt like i was getting somewhere. there's all kinds of "silly" rules, - most of which i forget everytime i setup for night sky stuff. the most crucial rule - and one i've forgotten to my cost (more than an handful of times), is the 500 rule. 500 / lens size = maximum exposure time in seconds (after that you get star trails).

I'm sure there's countless amount of rules. It seems like another topic where the more you delve into, the more you realise how much you don't know.
I always liked astronomy, way before I really got into music. One of the earliest book I have is simply titled "Cosmos". It was always mind-blowing to me - all those huge numbers (light years, distance between celesetial bodies) and what people can do. I was watching documentary recently about sending a space probe around Saturn and its moons. It's just incredible that they can operate that probe that is almost 1,5 billion kilometers from us. I can't even imagine how it's possible.

Black Wings Chief Mouse ThomasQuinn jon_innuendo HelloDelilah Chopin1995 pg emrabt The Real Wizard Lord Fickle(btw - if anyone wants un-tagging from these posts, just shout) so, Sunday evening I set the camera up in time to snap the ISS pass due 20:00. However, at 19:56 a tiny spec of movement caught my eye, so I turned the camera around. Initially I thought it could be Iridium 22, but now I’m not so sure. some information: elevation 30 degrees (heading SSW). There were other potentials – but they’re not known to be as visible; KORONAS-FOTON and SAOCOM-1A. edit: I’m almost certain it is SAOCOM-1A - a circumpolar satellite designed to help with emergency management and natural disasters. in both images it's visible lower centre of shot.
