I made this here because the topic is related to the Game Tour Show. Sorry if I made a mistake
One tom drum was not supplied in time for the early game show and a substitute was used, so it looks a little worse than it was! This was no exception at the Dallas show, but the AOBTD video shows that the tom drums were unified. It was when I noticed this that I began to suspect that the information that the video was shot in Dallas might be wrong!
Plus his hair is very different

Yes, many sources have confirmed it was recorded before the show. As for the hair, you can see in the Rock Montreal video (from the same general era) that he's going ham on the drums, going all over the place, so it makes sense that his hair would look all ragged when compared to the freshly combed hair he had for the video.

Of course I know Roger bobs his head while playing, I admire him and play the drums too. But after he cut his hair in mid-August 1980, Roger looks just like in the AOBTD video.
Comparing Dallas with the video, the hair length itself looks very different. I have other evidence of my own At the beginning of The Game Tour, the Ride cymbal was 20" until the Crazy Tour of 1979, when the 12" toms were resized to 22" when they were in their proper color. The video is that size, so it is definitely the latter half of the tour. The bass drum mic is in a different position, and the drum kit in the video is a typical late NA tour kit. Based on these considerations, it is my opinion that the video was not filmed Dallas. What do you all think of these?

Roger said it was shot in Detroit in the commentary of the music video on GH1 instead of Dallas; could that be correct?

That's what I think it is. Detroit in the second half of the tour would match the drum kit perfectly

Detroit was on the third leg tho, in late September. Idk when the video was aired first, so would that match up with the show (which was on September 20th)

So Roger's memory is wrong that it was filmed in Detroit
Checking Queenlive.ca's photos of the North American shows one by one I discovered that the high - tom were replaced by Ludwig's for the first time at Greensboro on August 14
The Ludwig factory, the drum manufacturer that Roger used, is located in Monroe, so my guess is that he replaced it when he toured nearby.
I digress a bit, but anyway, the video was probably not filmed in Dallas

Great observations anyway, those kind of details I would never have noticed.

I tried to find information on the release date of the video, and I thought I had it with finding the first air date on Top Of The Pops. It turned out though that was crowd dancing, so I don't know when the video was released
