Hi everyone.
This following article, titled Queen: Intelligence & Taste and published in the American music magazine CashBox on 5th April 1975, is something of a summary of the band's career up to that point.
The journalist who wrote the article, Bob Kaus, met the band in New York City (and reviewed one of the two concerts at Avery Fisher Hall on 16th February 1975: queenchat.boards.net/thread/5044/york-city-review-cashbox-march) and wrote a sort of biography, highlighting not only the first two albums and the great success of 'Killer Queen' and 'Sheer Heart Attack', but also the misadventures that hit the band (Brian May's "illness" in 1974 and Freddie Mercury's throat problems during the last tour North American).
An interesting passage can be found at the end of the article: Kaus particularly praises Brian May and his sound and highlights his guitar orchestrations, also highlighting the absence of synthesizers. Kaus concludes by claiming that the band could easily play at Madison Square Garden at the next opportunity; however, we will have to wait another two years. Enjoy!
