All the SongsI think it's about time Queen had a book like this. As far as I know, this is the first for the band. The Beatles, I know have had many books like this. They can be great reference books. I have pre-ordered this, (hoping the price decreases as we near release date), and I am crossing my fingers that it's a good book, as good as the better Beatle versions.

I've been developing an iOS app like this, so each song description cross-refereces to other materials and songs. So sometimes it ends up as a discovery journey thru their music as you hyperlink from song to song.

one of the difficulties of this will be that there are probably some contradictory quotes from the band about some stuff. yes and no. contradicting quotes may be a difference of opinion/perspective, it may be a different musicians take on what they are playing, or more importantly, sometimes a quote is taken out of context and this results in the reader misinterpreting the content. The app I was developing was going to continuously grow to include all aspects of Queen. So it was going to cover different versions of songs, known facts behind songs vs opinions, discussions of what was happening politically during that time (e.g. the Cold War and the threat of nuclear bombs in the 80s - is this the world we created). what I wasn’t certain about was using artwork in the app. I didn’t want to offend the band by using their copyright artwork. But the app would need to be a visual journey. |

Looks great, and over 500 pages. This is a kind of book I want to read about Queen. I wonder who the author is (apart from his name) and if he has any Queen connections, and how this book will compare to Complete Works by Georg Purvis. Looking forward to read this book.

Ooh, heck yeah! I have seen the "All The Songs" books for Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, etc. and they look really nice so I was *really* hoping for one for Queen! I will absolutely be pre-ordering this |

Oh, this looks promising. Curious to find what other books this guy has written and whether or not he has a good track record. Naturally, I'm skeptical when it comes to purchasing books about Queen. By this point, I already have an encyclopedic knowledge of the band, so when I read false information it grinds my gears. haha

But I couldn't tell you if they got any facts wrong. I don't know my Zep like I know my Queen.  |

Yeah, years ago (2006 or thereabouts) when I asked for the real names of contributors from QZ (back when it was worth something) Ian was a cheeky lad and got both his name and Ivor Bigguns's in there as well. Me, being American, had no idea who Ivor Bigguns was, so I just put him in there without thinking twice. It was only after the publication of the book that Ian pointed it out to me, and I had a good laugh. I just say it's yours because I don't think you ever gave me your full name. |
