There is a moment during Queen's performance of '39 at Hyde Park which I always think that it's Freddie telling Brian off. In the middle bit when Roger and Freddie go for the high notes, Brian randomly shouts "Philharmonic!" (presumably in reference to his introduction to the song) which causes Freddie to go over towards Brian (like it's a confrontation). But that's when the picture goes funny so you don't know what facial expression Freddie did towards Brian but when he walks back towards Roger and John, it sounds like Brian says shut up or something back at Freddie.
I don't know whether this is true but does anyone have any better examples? Queen to me have the impression that they were nearly always professional on stage but in the studio is the opposite. Despite having said this I'm sure there are a few incidents.

I think Brian just went like "Ohhh/Awww" like Freddie told him something new.

Fair enough it's also Brian's face when Freddie walks away like Brian disagrees with what Freddie said.

Whatever was happening behind the scenes never once made its way on stage. Even at the peak of excess and discontent with one another, they were always professional on stage (with that one possible exception of New Zealand).

The only other shows that come to my mind for unprofessionalism are East Rutherford in 1982 (the infamous guitar incident and general bad singing voices) and Madrid in 1986 (the fight before the show which affected the band's mood on stage).

Brian is definitely smiling as Freddie walks back to centre stage. so, i don't think there's anything in that at all.

The shot is different. That version took a different shot from '39, slightly changed the colors, and put it in that spot. Look at 0:27 and compare it with the part you're looking at.

Nah, that's just Brian saying "ahhh" or something like that, definitely not a dispute between Brian and Freddie. Harmless stuff – just the two having a good time.

Sorry to disagree with your Madrid claims. There may have been a fight backstage before the show, but my brother and I, along with a lot of people, were present at the show. I wouldn't say we noticed anything weird. The band mood on stage was, as far as everybody else was concerned, perfectly fine. Good atmosphere and crowd participation. All eyes on Freddie, which was to be expected. Like I said: most people left the stadium under the impression that the show had been a triumph for Queen.

Well ... I´ve got a Madrid recording where you can hear two or three persons not very happy with the band (you can hear perfectly many many times "más marcha!") they could be drunk of course, but i think they were unpleased with the band. For me this is not a very good show...Freddie´s voice is not in a very good shape. PD: Anoher spanish here

Does it mean something else in Spanish?

Does it mean something else in Spanish? "Más marcha" means something like "faster / harder". It's colloquial, obviously. As for your impressions from the recording... what can I say? We all got the right to disagree. To me, it was a dream come true, so I might be a bit biased, right?

Hey! Sorry I'm very very late to this post but if you take a listen to either one of the hyde park audience recordings circulating, you'll hear that Brian saying "Philharmonic!" never made it's way through the speakers, and nobody in the audience could hear it (or make it out if they were close enough to the stage). Low chance that Freddie even heard him say it at that moment, so just a coincidence most likely that he said something to Bri
