Just been listening to Elis James and John Robins 5live podcast and John mentioned that Freddie didn't win an Ivor Novello award for Killer Queen. I assume he found this out from an upcoming Queenpod podcast. Is there any proof?

I 'discovered' it a decade and a half ago, at least. I'm sure many others also 'discovered' it before and after I did. Moreover, the 1975 Fan Club newsletter clearly states Frederick came second. As in, he did not win.

It’s one of the urban myths that he won for Killer Queen and has since been repeated over the years to become ‘fact’. He should’ve won - but didn’t.

Just noticed that it states this boldly in the Studio Collection book, that he won. Kind of odd to have your own urban legend become so engrained that you believe it yourself and put it in your own book!

The same way the Classic Queen CD booklet says A Kind of Magic went #1 in "no less than 35 countries," when it was just in Spain.

Definitely, Definitely, Definitely stated at the time (in the press) that he'd won it for KQ. But no??? Hells teeth....I'm disappointed.
