Thanks Doughnut! Not much new here but still interesting look into the life of a roadie. Until I read Hince's book those men were just shadowing figures in the dark background of the stage. His book fills out the image of the roadies and life on the road. I always like to watch the coordination between HInce and Freddie and the handing off of the microphone. It was perfectly choreographed.

I admire Peter (Ratty) for not wanting to delve into the private life of the band . I do feel they deserve privacy . This is also why Crystal won’t write a book .

Crystal actually did plan to write a book, he may have even began working on it. A few years ago he regularly told stories about being on tour with Queen on the Queen Fanclub website. Some of the tales were hilarious. another guy who should have written a book was Trip, he told some amazing stories about Queen and many other artists he had a regal column in Sound on Sound magazine for a few months about fifteen years aback.

I have read Crystals stories , they are indeed hilarious. I saw him say on the Queen international fan club FB page many years ago that he wouldn’t write a book . He said too much has happened and it would have to involve him revealing personal information so he wouldn’t do it . Think he lives in Australia nowadays . It would be a great book if he did do one . I love to hear about life on the road from a roadies perspective.

How true that is. Apart from the One Vision sessions, there are very few photos of the band in the studio after 1975. Yet another indication of how much they guarded their process. It's amazing the footage of the NOTW sessions was shot at all. Nice to have some more semi-official confirmation of this. Needless to say he's holding back, and I'm surprised he even said that much. Insightful. Overall a very enjoyable read - Hince is clearly a very intelligent and thoughtful man.
