It makes a lot more sense.

Freddy? Person who wrote that: "I have sinned, dear father. Father, I have sinned."

It was likely a double performance, it says it's between 5:15 and 11:15pm, that's over a 6 hour period, so most likely they did 45 minutes, took a break, then another 45 minutes (or however the math adds up, it's too early for me to do things like that now). Your reading isn't much better than your math... the 5:15 is actually 8:15. A 30 minute and a 45 minute set...that would be an interesting set list to see...would they include a cover in the first set, or just the second one?

Ah I see the faint cross-swipe of the 8 now; I must've been blinded by the flash in the middle of the photo... The most complete set list I found on setlist.fm for a 1970 concert was 'Liar', 'Keep Yourself Alive', 'Son and Daughter', 'Jailhouse Rock / Stupid Cupid / Be-Bop-A-Lula', which, while likely incomplete, could probably take up a half hour. Throw in 'Stone Cold Crazy' and a Smile song or two and you could probably have a 45 minute set with the same songs. That's my completely uninformed and uneducated opinion, so take it with a grain of salt; I imagine they'd want to play more of what an audience would be familiar with (covers) than songs they weren't.

You're probably not too far off.
Back then all you had to do was play covers decently and you could get a ton of work if you knew the agents who booked it. In the '60s most people were impressed enough that local bands could play music that was on the radio. The term "cover band" didn't even exist then - it's just what most bands did until they became famous enough to play their originals.
This probably explains why Queen played 5 gigs in 1972.

These are the original .mov videos recorded by me with my old (2007) Nikon Coolpix Camera. I know, the reharsals weren't in Houston (so the name of the file is wrong). Hope you'll like them. Of course these videos are not great concerning the audio because you could only hear them through headphones (there were dozens of tv screens each with different videos playing) drive.google.com/drive/folders/1PgSbw36OOPcgOOh54zcsOIRHWxqX429N?usp=sharingThe link get down, could you share a new one please?
