I thought I would create a thread where we list all the famous people who are known to have attended at least one Queen show. The rule is to have some sort of evidence with each name. Abba - Stockholm 8th May 1977
(Taken from the Summer 1977 edition of the Fan Club Magazine.) Ella Fitzgerald - Madison Square Garden 1st December 1977
Pete Townshend - Wembley 9th December 1980
This extract is taken from The Real Wizard's queenlive.ca: I also read Pete talking about this in his autobiography.

I can't provide a date or venue (surely someone here can), but here you go: Michael Jackson in 1982. Bonus: Frederick's junk.

Nice topic!
I asked Gary Taylor (who once worked with Greg Brooks on a Queen live book) once whether Ella Fitzgerald (she is my favourite female singer)indeed saw the Queen concert in NY 12-1-77 and he told me this was not the case.

(Taken from the Spring 1978 edition of the Fan Club Magazine.) I always wondered if the two bands crossed paths much but never heard Queen mention ELO at all and vice versa.

If I remember correctly, MJ was a regular attendee when they were around and it was him who told them they would be crazy not to release "Another One Bites The Dust" as a single, which they reluctantly did.

Pete Townshend - Wembley 9th December 1980
This extract is taken from The Real Wizard's queenlive.ca: I also read Pete talking about this in his autobiography. In 2019 I asked Pete on Instagram whether he saw any other Queen concert apart from this Wembley show and I can't find his answer now and I'm not sure under which post it was but his answer was something like this: "Yes. At first I thought their were crazy. It took me a long time to realise [or aprecciate?] their immense scope and talent."

Phil Collins, possibly a date on The Works tour - he speaks on The Magic Years about attending a show and being backstage and seeing Freddie knock back a couple of vodkas.

Especially in this case where we have Freddie Mercury on tape saying she was there.

We'd have to ask GT, I guess. He seemed sure of his case when I asked, saying FM said "if she's hear tonight" instead of "she's here tonight". Now that I listened to that bit again it appears to me Freddie does say: "she's here tonight" I really do hope she was there. She's a diamond.

Birmingham 11/27/73 - Rob Halford (Judas Priest) Halford's recent autobiography "Confess" also mentions him seeing a Queen concert at the Birmingham Town Hall where Now I'm Here was played as the opening number. He mentions it in a section which takes place in 1973 but obviously that song would put it in 1974, i.e. the show on 16th November.
I only have the Finnish version of the book and Google doesn't have that page available, so I can't post a photo.

Journalist Haruko Minakami says she ran into King Crimson members John Wetton, David Cross, and Bill Bruford, but not Robert Fripp, in New York at the Hoople/Queen show on May 7, 1974. She also posted this pic, which I believe is a personal photo of hers. Has that Queen "logo" been used elsewhere?:

Sorry to post without evidence, but I recall maybe Richie Sambora or Jon Bon Jovi or both saw them in about ‘74 and owned the Sheetkeekers bootleg.
Also Taylor Hawkins on the Hot Space tour?
Oh, and Lisa Marie Presley in ‘77? - Gave Fred the Elvis scarf.
Garth Brooks I think as well.

Lisa Marie Presley: www.popentertainment.com/lisamariepresley.htmWhat was the first rock show you saw? Probably Queen. I think I saw them in 1978 or 1979 at The Forum. I remember bringing Freddie Mercury a scarf of my Dad’s and I gave it to him after the show. I loved it. I loved the theatrics. I loved Freddie. I thought Queen were awesome. I’m a big fan of theatrics. Like Marilyn Manson’s live show. I’ve seen him like eight times now.

Garth Brooks: www.cmt.com/news/1777608/garth-brooks-youre-working-to-get-an-invitation-back/Then he recalled the first time he saw Queen play live. His girlfriend at the time, Tammy, bought 13th row tickets that neither of them could afford. “All I wanted was for Freddie Mercury to look at me for three seconds so I could go, ’Thank you, man. I know I shouldn’t be making my decisions by listening to your music. But I am,'” he told the CRS gathering in Nashville.

From Wikipedia: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Queen_live_performancesJim Kerr from Simple Minds first saw Queen when they opened for Mott the Hoople during the 1974 UK tour. At the launch party of the Innuendo album, Kerr stated that Queen "blew Hoople off the stage!". Similarly, Richie Sambora from Bon Jovi saw Queen open for Hoople three times in New York in 1974, stating that they were "absolutely fantastic", and that he "never forgot" the performances.

Yeah, different fonts are used all the time, but in this case, there's a crown within the "Q" so I feel that's something different. It's nothing elaborate like the official Q-with-crown logo, but it's a step up from just picking a font.

That would be awesome if she really was in an attendance! Does Freddie really say on the audience recording that we have that she is there, in the audience??
I hope that one day we will have this clarified!
