On the July 12, 86 Wembley show the band does a few lines of Gimme Some Lovin which I don't think was done at any other shows. I've always wondered if that wasn't picked up at sound check because someone from The Spencer Davis group was going to be in the audience.

Thank you for your kind response. I admit I haven't listened to many of the shows from this tour but did click through the set lists and only saw it listed for that one show. It was a great jam and I always enjoy hearing it on Wembley Live when it pops up.

Indeed, that’s from my collection!

Another famous musician to attend a Queen concert is Jerry Only from The Misfits.
At 17:50 he mentions it in this interview. He said he saw the Queen II show in 1975, but as we know most musicians do - he misremembered the year and its most likely 1974 at the Uris Theater.

40 years after, 1977 is very close to 1975. I also would put money on it being any of the 77 shows.

Ha. I went down a rabbit hole with that one, because Dave sort of points over his shoulder when he says "the forum". I ended up finding out where the show might have been broadcast from, which is at least a good half hour drive from the venue (but then in LA everyone drives everywhere).

Not sure if/when they played LA before 77 and what venue, that's another rabbit hole.

But I agree it's likely the Forum in 77. He did very well to get a 20th row seat, the venue looks massive..

I really should get out more.

Only famous in Brazil, but Guto Goffi and Maurício Barros (drummer and keyboardist respectively for Brazilian band Barão Vermelho) were in one of Queen's 1981 São Paulo shows and it inspired them to form a band. Barão Vermelho's original singer Cazuza went on to have a pretty successful solo career over here before dying of AIDS.

Just to narrow down the Garth Brooks concert... The video video popped on for me on Youtube, and he describes the Tammy mentioned above as his 'high school sweetheart'.

Brooks being born in 1962 puts him in high school from 1977-80, and according to wikipedia lived in Oklahoma. I tried using Queen concerts, and the only show I could find in that time was August 8, 1980.

If my deduction skills are poor, let me know and I'll delete this post!

I also read Pete talking about this in his autobiography.

In 2019 I asked Pete on Instagram whether he saw any other Queen concert apart from this Wembley show and I can't find his answer now and I'm not sure under which post it was but his answer was something like this: "Yes.
