Just spotted on the track list of the upcoming Now That's What I Call Music compilation (NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL 12” 80S) They've included the extended remix of Radio Ga Ga. Any clues on what source they've used? as, from what I know, it hasn't been remastered since 1991. www.nowmusic.com/albums/now-thats-what-i-call-12-80s/

Can't imagine why it would be anything other than the 1991 remaster.

Do Queen have some sort of condition of use that they are always the first track on these sorts of compilations?

Do Queen have some sort of condition of use that they are always the first track on these sorts of compilations? There are exceptions, particularly where TGIC is licenced. Not even QPL have that much brass neck

Apologies for confusing.
However, I entered TGIC Queen into Google and the song was the first result.

Nice to see the extended version included. I have it on the "The 12 Inch Collection" CD which was included in the Box Of Tricks.

Whenever they are included, they're number 1 on the tracklist. It’s ironic, then, that they’re the last artist mentioned on the cover.

IMHO, that's about 10 good tracks and 37 horrible ones. And they've actually managed to create artwork worse than QPL's - I hope it doesn't give them any ideas!

I like it too, but the 12" mix is pretty unremarkable. I seem to recall they just repeated half of it again, and there wasn't anything "new" in it, like a mega extended guitar solo!

I love how the drums enter for the third verse after the first "see you in heaven one day" line. What makes this version unique is the additional lyrics not on the album version in the final 90 seconds which answers some of the questions to the songs meaning. It's worth noting that I think this one song that without a fade out doesn't finish as strongly. Every live version seems to have a different ending.

Radio Ga Ga I don't think is the best extended version of a Queen song, I think Breakthru is the best. But then Breakthru isn't a very famous song even though it was a Top 10 hit and sounds very commercial and poppy like other songs on this Now! album.

drive.google.com/file/d/12KcIywK91ANYH_GQ3EUzkmkFVgJyyYZt/view?usp=drivesdkThis is a special one-off program which was on BBC Radio 2 a couple of years ago about the Now! That's What I Call Music series. Listen to from 21:27 and you can hear them talking about Queen on a Now! album. Ashley Abram who compiled most of the Now! albums talked about how Queen always demanded the first track position!

It certainly isn't on my "horrible" list, but as others have noted, it's one of the most pointless 12" versions around.
Now, The Safety Dance, Flashdance, The Time Of My Life - those I *do* call horrible, and they've clearly brought their friends.

"It was not included on the 2011 'The Works' CD bonus disc, any of the Singles Collection Box Sets, and is unavailable on streaming services at this time." I know a company who can change that...

I vaguely remember reading about Queen tracks being number one on compilations. Maybe on Brian's soapbox years and years ago?

I’ve just been flicking through the music tv channels and happened upon ‘Now 80s 12” remixes’ - basically a tv channel playing the videos for the songs on this new release - Radio Ga Ga had just started and there is now a 12” video edition too! The extended audio has been cut with a lot of the backstage rushes and outtakes of the making of the original Radio Ga Ga promo video!
